MEET ROXY 🐾🩷
Miss Roxy is one of our senior staff pets and is living proof of how far pets can thrive and survive with epilepsy. Roxy is the sassiest of our staff pets and enjoys following the ladies at the front desk, or anyone for that matter, until they give in and provide her with a handful of cookies. Her clumsy walk and inspiring story is known all too well by her mom, RVT Jenny. If you have questions regarding epilepsy or are struggling please don't hesitate to reach out.

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m a Veterinary Assistant at Wingrove Veterinary Hospital, where I’ve spent the last 2 summers caring for some amazing furry patients. I’ve been working as an assistant for 6 years now, and my love for animals started back in South Africa, where I grew up. I adore both cats and dogs—and recently adopted a wild little orange cat named Ray Ray who came into the clinic looking for a home. He definitely keeps me busy! I’m currently in school to become a registered respiratory therapist, but I couldn’t resist coming back for one more summer to spend time with the animals and team I love. I’m known for being kind and gentle, and I’m so grateful to be part of this work.

If you could be any animal for a day, what would you be and why? - Winnie, our clinic cat, because I would never have to worry about anything ever again.

What's your favourite animal noise to imitate? - Ray Ray's meows; we have full conversations.

If you had to name a pet after your favourite food, what would it be? - Cheese (Brie)

What's your go-to comfort snack after a long shift? - Ben & Jerry's Ice cream (churro flavour)

What's one thing people would be surprised to learn about being a vet assistant? - Something I tell all my RT friends: SP02 placement options

If pets could talk, which species would be the sassiest? - Orange cats, for sure.

What's your favourite animal-themed movie or TV show? - Brother Bear, of course.

What's your dream exotic animal to meet (ethically & safely)? - Capybara
