🐾TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY ❤️

"One year ago this month, we faced the weight loss mountain for my cat Morty with Dr. Graham. I had tried some strategies on my own, but I can see now how complex a process it is for weight loss in pets. He has finally reached his goal with a total loss of 6 lbs. I can't believe we did it, but I can assure you that this would never be possible without Dr. Graham. She has really put together a program that works, not only from the perspective of her scientific knowledge and many calculations, but her regular check-ins and availability, toolbox of strategies for roadblocks, encouragement, and commitment to her clients. I struggled with my cat's begging, but knowing that whatever amounts of food he was getting was enough to meet his nutritional needs helped me to be strong :). I can't recommend Dr. Graham and her program strongly enough."

Thank you so much for the kind words, Darlene

🐾 HALL OF FAME FRIDAY! 🤩 Lately we've been reflecting back on all our sweet patients who achieved a healthier weight – and a better quality of life 😍 – through the hard work of their wonderful, dedicated owners. We're highlighting our past patients by adding them to our Hall of Fame with dedicated social media posts on Fridays 😎 So, in no particular order, today we are inducting Spencer into the Graham Mobile Veterinary Weight Management Services Hall of Fame 🎉

🐶 Spencer holds a very special place in our hearts as he was our very first patient ❤️ His family reached out to us shortly after we opened our practice to see if we could help improve on his weight. Spencer was on a medication that had the unfortunate side-effect of increased appetite, resulting in weight gain, creating a bit more of a challenge for us. Thankfully, Spencer's family was very dedicated to helping him achieve a healthier weight and they were successful, ultimately improving his quality of life 🥰 Congratulations Spencer and family 🥳 🌈

We're highlighting our past patients by adding them to our Hall of Fame with dedicated social media posts on Fridays 😎 So, in no particular order, today we are inducting Bailey into the Graham Mobile Veterinary Weight Management Services Hall of Fame 🎉

🐶 Sweet Bailey was referred to us by her primary care veterinarian at Westend Veterinary Hospital. She lives in a very busy household with family coming and going throughout the day. Bailey also shares her home with some other pets, making a weight loss program more challenging. However, her dedicated family persisted and made some impactful changes to Bailey's feeding regime and lifestyle, resulting in some excellent progress in the right direction. Weight management is not about perfection; it's about improving quality of life as best we can. 🥰 Congratulations Bailey and family 🥳

The cat's finally out of the bag 😻 A few months ago Dr. Graham got a preview of a new diet coming out from Royal Canin and this week it was officially launched at the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association conference. Introducing Royal Canin GlycoAdvanced! Cats with obesity are at high risk for developing diabetes but the good news is that, if caught early and if a weight loss program is implemented quickly, these cats have a chance of going into remission. This new set of diets – a kibble and two canned options – is designed not only for safe, effective weight loss, but also for optimal management of diabetes: low in starch and high in protein. We are really excited to see this new option for cats hit the market and honoured to have the opportunity to learn about it ahead of time 😎

Lucky gave us an early Christmas present: Mabel! Just kidding... These two characters do not know each other but Lucky is very proud to announce that he has lost the equivalent of a whole cat – one Mabel 😻 – since he began his weight loss journey a little over a year ago 😊 We often measure success in "real life" terms rather than just looking at the number on the scale. Recently Lucky visited his primary care veterinary clinic, Windrush Veterinary Services, and it was the first time ever that they did not need to use an office chair to wheel his carrier to the examination room! 🥳

We are extremely pleased with Lucky's progress and look forward to celebrating his future successes as his weight loss journey continues. Please join us in congratulating everyone involved in Lucky's care 🥰

Nutrition plays a critical role in pet health – in fact, it’s considered the fifth “vital sign” in the veterinary profession, alongside pulse, breathing rate, temperature, and pain level – and a pet’s body condition can have a big impact on both quality and quantity of life (AKA longevity). It’s never too late to pursue weight management in a pet, provided they don’t have any significant medical issues that might take priority over a weight loss program. Indeed, many of our patients are in their senior years!

We recently partnered with Peaceful Passing, an in-home end-of-life veterinary practice, to spread the word about the role of nutrition in senior pets. Take a look at our guest blog, https://peacefulpassing.ca/blog/senior-pet-nutrition-a-vets-guide-to-feeding-older-dogs-cats/ 🥰

As one of the many hats she wears in her career, Dr. Graham is a proud member of the Peaceful Passing team, where she is honoured to support pets and their families through the final stage of their journey together ❤️🌈🐾

🤪FRIDAY FUNSIES 😜
With the cold winter weather now here, it's jigsaw puzzle season 🧩❄️ 🤓 Is anyone else's cat as helpful as Dr. Graham's senior girl, Penelope? It's a good thing she's cute 🥰 Tell us about all the "helpful" things your pets do – photographic evidence encouraged 📸

🐾 HALL OF FAME FRIDAY! 🤩 Lately we've been reflecting back on all our sweet patients who achieved a healthier weight – and a better quality of life 😍 – through the hard work of their wonderful, dedicated owners. We're highlighting our past patients by adding them to our Hall of Fame with dedicated social media posts on Fridays 😎 So, in no particular order, today we are inducting Maru into the Graham Mobile Veterinary Weight Management Services Hall of Fame 🎉

🐶 Maru was referred to us by a veterinary internal medicine specialist at VCA Canada Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital as he had a number of health issues, some of which were believed to be related to his obesity which, of course, was also impacting his quality of life. Maru's case was one of our most daunting as he was accustomed to being fed full, varied meals of cooked human foods; his owners were certain he would never be willing to eat regular dog food. As Dr. Graham is not a veterinary clinical nutritionist, she was not comfortable working with a home-cooked diet for Maru so she and the clients agreed to try Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets OM Overweight Management Select Blend, a formulation specially designed for picky eaters. Everyone was thrilled when he enthusiastically accepted the diet! With a lot of hard work and strong willpower, Maru's family successfully got him to his ideal weight, shedding almost HALF of his body weight in just over a year! The change in Maru's appearance, energy levels, and demeanour were remarkable with neighbours even asking if the family had gotten a new dog. Not only that, all of Maru's somewhat-mysterious medical issues resolved with his weight loss! Maru's case was one of the most rewarding ones we've been involved with and we are incredibly proud of him and his owners 🥰 Congratulations Maru and family 🥳

Yesterday Dr. Graham was honoured to be amongst a number of highly-respected veterinary specialists invited to a product pre-launch at Royal Canin Canada – her old stomping grounds and the place where she became passionate about weight management 😊 There's a very exciting nutritional innovation coming down the pipeline in early 2026 that will be amazing for some of our feline patients 😻 That's all we're gonna say at this point but I'm sure you can guess that it has to do with weight management 😉 Stay tuned!

🥳 We are kicking up our heels in celebration this week! Sweet miss Nikita achieved her ideal weight after a rocky road to weight loss success and we could not be happier 😊 Nikita's weight loss journey was a considerable joint effort involving the entire team at her primary care veterinary practice, Pinnacle Animal Hospital, her chiropractic veterinarian, a number of veterinary specialists, and, most importantly, her dedicated family 🥰 As you can see from the video, Nikita has Border Collie-level energy again – a milestone far more important than any number on the scale! Our congratulations to Nikita and everyone involved in her weight loss journey ❤️

🐾TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY ❤️

"Thank you so much Kirsten for helping Jasper feel his best. Jasper found it hard getting in and out of the car so it was so perfect that you came to us for his appointments. We could feel how much you care for him, and it’s been a pleasure working with you. Thank you so much."
