We are excited to announce we will be open until 4pm on Fridays starting in June to offer more appointment times and prescription/food pick-up opportunities! ⏲️

📆 Our hours moving forward will be:
Monday - 9am to 6pm
Tuesday - 9am to 7pm
Wednesday - 9am to 7pm
Thursday - 9am to 7pm
Friday - 9am to 4pm
Saturday - 9am to 2pm
Sunday - CLOSED

🐶 Staff Pet Feature: Tyrion
🧍🏻‍♀️His Human: One of our reception staff, Michaela

Tyrion is an 8 year old Border Collie. He has a very big family at home with lots of human and fur relatives, and he’s very affectionate with all of them! Tyrion loves to stay active both physically and mentally, enjoying hikes and training sessions with his mom. He knows lots of tricks and trials in scent detection!

When Tyrion comes in for vet appointments, he wears a muzzle. He’s a very friendly boy, but he occasionally gets a little worried and can become defensive. The muzzle keeps everyone safe, including him! His mom has done training with him to condition him to wear it, so he is very comfortable with it on.

We’ve had some very cute moments with our staff pets recently! Today is somewhat bittersweet as it is Sally’s last day joining her mom as work since they are moving out of Barrie. Sadie has been an amazing addition to our RVT team, and we wish her the best in her next chapter! We’re glad Sally joined us for one last day to visit with her coworkers. 🐶

We'd like to introduce you to a couple more chihuahuas. Meet Yoda and Daisy Mae! 👽🌼

These two siblings have been patients here for a few years, and we are incredibly grateful to be trusted with their veterinary care! They've been here for routine health care, medical concerns, and dental surgeries, so they've seen it all!

Their mom always has funny tidbits to share about them when they come in that crack us up. She always starts by announcing "Your favourite chihuahuas are here!" when they come through the door. Their visits are always entertaining for the team. 🐾

Thank you to Gizmo's mom for sharing more about him with us:

"While Gizmo’s life was cut short far too soon, he left memories that will stay with us forever. Gizmo was the sweetest, cuddliest, and most loving boy. He loved spending time with his sister and his humans (especially hanging out on their shoulders). We recently got a kitten, Callaway, and we just know Gizmo sent Callaway to us. They have so many similarities in their personality, and Callaway was born the day after Gizmo crossed the rainbow bridge. I cannot thank the team at AHOBF enough for all the care and love they have given all our pets. We truly could not be more appreciative of the team and the amazing work they do every day!"
