🇨🇦 August Long Weekend Hours 🐾☀️

Just a friendly reminder that Bayfield Animal Hospital will be closed Monday (August 3) for the August Long Weekend. Please make sure you pick up all food and medications by friday at 5 pm!

We’ll be back and ready to care for your pets on Tuesday, August 4th from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. As always existing clients are welcome to text us and we will respond as promptly as we are able to.

If your pet experiences an emergency while we’re closed, please contact Huronia Veterinary Emergency Clinic.

We hope you and your furry family members have a safe and happy long weekend! ❤️ Remember to keep pets cool in the heat, provide plenty of fresh water, and keep them away from fireworks and BBQ foods.

Meet Cheddar! 🧀🐾

If smiles had four legs and giant ears, they’d probably look just like Cheddar. 💛

This adorable Corgi puppy stopped by for a visit and instantly became the star of the clinic. From those expressive eyes to those iconic ears, Cheddar had our entire team smiling from the moment he walked through the door.

Puppy visits are about so much more than vaccines—they’re a chance to build confidence, create positive experiences, and help your newest family member get off to the best possible start.

Welcome to the Bayfield family, Cheddar! We can’t wait to watch you grow. 🐶✨

✨ Meet Miranda! 💗

Miranda is newer to the veterinary field but has nearly 10 years of experience working with animals, primarily through rescue organizations. She has a special interest in animal behaviour and enrichment and is passionate about making every visit a positive, comfortable experience for both pets and their people. 💕

Outside the clinic, you’ll often find her taking her two cats, Moriko (Mo) and Onigiri (Oni), on harness walks, caring for her tropical plants, enjoying live music, or visiting her fiancé.

💙 Meet Rosseau! 🐾

Rosseau stopped by Bayfield Animal Hospital for her routine vaccines and parasite prevention, and she was the definition of a purr-fect patient! 🩺✨

Keeping up with annual vaccines and year-round parasite prevention is one of the best ways to protect your cat from preventable diseases and unwanted hitchhikers like fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites. Even indoor cats can be at risk!

And some insist on “helping” with X-rays. 🩻
And then there’s Jerry who does it all! 😂

But really.. Krista is the heart behind so much that happens at Bayfield Animal Hospital, keeping our days running smoothly while making every client and patient feel welcome.

And Jerry has enthusiastically taken on the role of clinic mascot, professional greeter, treat inspector, cuddle coordinator, and occasional X-ray assistant.

Together, they make quite the pair. From patient cuddles to lots of laughs, they remind us that great veterinary medicine is about more than medicine—it’s about creating a place where people, pets, and our team feel right at home. 💕🐾

We’re proud to be working closely with McLean Housecall to help provide their clients with seamless access to surgery and diagnostic imaging. 🐾

Bayfield Animal Hospital is also here to support McLean housecall clients with emergency appointments whenever Dr. Felicia is on vacation or away. Dr. Felicia will also be here to help see both Bayfield and McLean pets on Thursday nights 😊 Together, we’re making veterinary care more convenient and connected for families in our community. 🤍

Meet Ziggy! 🐾💚

It’s safe to say Ziggy has already stolen a few hearts around the clinic… especially when he looked up at us with those adorable eyes. 🥹

This handsome little guy came by for a visit and reminded us why kitten appointments are some of our favourites. Curious, playful, and full of personality, Ziggy made himself right at home (and may have convinced us all we need another cat!).

This handsome German Shepherd puppy stopped by for a visit, and let’s just say he had the entire team wrapped around his tiny paws. From those floppy ears to those oversized puppy feet, he’s as sweet as he is adorable.
