🖤 Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🖤

Today we’re celebrating the sleek, mysterious and endlessly lovable black cats — and we couldn’t think of a better model than our handsome patient, Oscar! 🐈‍⬛✨

Oscar came in to Port City for a CT Scan and procedure with our vet team, and he handled it like the absolute superstar he is. 🖤

Here’s to all the black cats who bring a little extra magic (and mischief!) into our lives. 🐾

🧦 🧦 🧦 Luna recently presented to our team after ingesting a sock — a potentially serious gastrointestinal foreign body. Following assessment Dr Holly was able to successfully retrieve the sock via endoscopy, avoiding the need for surgical intervention. 🩺

Luna recovered well following the procedure and was able to return home with her family. 💕

A reminder that swallowed objects can quickly become an emergency. If your pet ingests something they shouldn’t, prompt veterinary assessment is always recommended. 🐾

🩸 Seeking blood donors 🩸

Port City Emergency Vets are reaching out as they have had a number of blood donors who have unfortunately reached retirement age of 8 years (3 greyhounds!!) so they are very low on their donor register at the moment.

Donors are an incredible part of their hospital and help so many patients in need of lifesaving blood transfusions. They are seeking regular or one-off donors.

Greyhounds generally have the best nature, very large red-blood cell concentration and usually are universal donors.

If your greyhound can help or you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the team at Port City!
