Why do pet owners choose a mobile vet?

For many pets and their owners, receiving veterinary care at home can make the whole experience feel easier and more rewarding for everyone involved.

There’s no stressful journey or unfamiliar waiting room, and your pet can be examined in the place they know best. Our appointments aren’t rushed, giving our vets time to examine your pet properly, listen to your concerns and talk you through any recommended treatment or medication.

We provide mobile veterinary care across Central and Greater London and surrounding areas.

Firework season is approaching, is your pet prepared? 🎆

From Bonfire Night and Diwali through to New Year’s Eve, unexpected bangs and bright flashes can be frightening for many pets.

If your pet has previously shown significant fear or anxiety around fireworks, please speak to your veterinary team in advance. Support is best discussed before the fireworks begin as fear becomes progressively worse.

In addition to veterinary support and for those less fearful:

🏠 Create a quiet, comfortable hiding place and allow your pet to use it whenever they choose.

🌙 Walk dogs during daylight hours and keep cats safely indoors before fireworks are likely to begin.

🪟 Close windows and curtains to soften the sounds and flashes.

📺 Use familiar background noise, such as the television or calming music, if your pet is accustomed to it.

🔐 Check that doors, windows and cat flaps are secure, and make sure your pet’s microchip details are up to date.

❤️ Stay calm and let your pet choose whether to hide or stay near you. Never force them out of their safe place.

Is your pet worried by fireworks? Please get in touch to discuss how we may be able to help them feel safer and more settled throughout firework season.

Does your pet seem like a completely different animal at the vet?

The journey, unfamiliar smells, strange noises and a busy waiting room can all affect how a pet behaves. Some may become nervous, hide or seem unusually quiet.

With a home visit, your pet can remain in familiar surroundings, where they may feel more settled and able to behave more like themselves.

Every pet is different, but removing the journey and waiting room can make veterinary care feel easier for some.

If you think your pet could benefit from veterinary care at home, get in touch with us to find out more.

Meet Louise, our wonderful veterinary nurse at Tony’s Mobile Vets. 👋

Lou has been part of the TMV team for a year now! She has a particular interest in cat behaviour and finds the independent yet affectionate nature of domestic cats intriguing. Lou is also a proud cat mum to 18-year-old Matilda. 🐱

Lou helps to ensure the vets’ days run smoothly, from stock control and prescription requests to discussing clinical queries with clients. She also sometimes heads out on the road to visit you and your pets at home. 🏡

Outside of work, Lou is learning to play tennis, enjoys yoga and loves spending time with family, most recently walking to the summit of Scafell Pike in the beautiful Lake District! ⛰️

Lou is an important part of the team behind the care we provide, helping everything run smoothly so we can provide a personal and convenient veterinary service at home for you and your pets.

Have you spoken to Louise on the phone or met her on a home visit? Say hello in the comments! 👋
