Meet Jarvis 💚 this little guy was bitten by a snake 🐍 ! Not very common in the UK but it is important to note we do have them not many of our snakes are poisonous however the Adder snake is ‼️ so please watch out for signs when you are taking your pets for a walk in any fields, long grass or bushes 🐾 Jarvis is doing well and reviving nicely 🥰🫶
Please also note is you or a dog walker take your pets to ‼️Hounslow health Adder snakes are there so please please be careful ‼️

🐍 DOGS & ADDER SNAKE BITES: KNOW THE SIGNS 🐾
Adder bites can be painful and may become serious, especially if your dog is small, elderly, or has other health problems.
⚠️ Signs your dog may have been bitten:
• Sudden pain or yelping
• Swelling around the bite area (often face, nose, or legs)
• Lameness or reluctance to move
• Bruising or redness
• Shaking, weakness, or collapse
• Vomiting or breathing difficulties
🚨 What to do:
✅ Keep your dog calm and as still as possible
✅ Contact your vet immediately for advice
✅ Carry your dog if possible to reduce movement
❌ Do not try to suck out venom
❌ Do not apply a tourniquet
❌ Do not give human pain medication
Most dogs recover well with prompt veterinary care, but early treatment is important.
📍If you walk your dog in areas where adders live, keep them on paths and avoid letting them disturb snakes basking in warm weather.

⚠️ Common issues to be aware of:
🌾 Grass seed injuries
Some grass seeds have sharp, barbed ends that can get caught in a pet’s fur and work their way into the skin, ears, eyes, or paws.
🐕 Paw problems
Seeds trapped between toes can cause irritation, swelling, limping, or discomfort.
👂 Ear and eye risks
Seeds can become lodged in sensitive areas and may require veterinary attention if not removed.
🩺 Signs to watch for:
• Excessive licking or chewing at paws
• Shaking the head or scratching ears
• Redness, swelling, or discomfort
• Sudden limping

🐱💛 Understanding IBD in Cats
Does your cat have a sensitive tummy? Frequent vomiting or diarrhoea shouldn’t always be dismissed as “just hairballs” or a picky stomach.
Feline Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a condition where the immune system causes ongoing inflammation in the digestive tract. This can affect how your cat absorbs nutrients and how they feel day-to-day.
🚩 Common signs of IBD in cats:
• Repeated vomiting
• Chronic diarrhoea or soft stools
• Weight loss
• Reduced appetite or picky eating
• Lethargy
• Changes in coat condition
🔎 How is IBD diagnosed?

Meet our loving girl Lottie 💚 absolutely stole the teams hearts with all of her party tricks 🥳 and loves 🥰 she came in today for us to check her ears for such fluffy pups 🐶 we find the ears can trap moisture which can lead to infection but our Lottie took it like a champ 🫶🐾

Some patients steal our hearts the moment they walk through the door. 💙🐾

Have you guys ever heard about FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis❓

FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) is a serious disease caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus (FCoV). While many cats carry feline coronavirus without problems, in some cats the virus changes and can lead to FIP.
⚠️ Common signs of FIP may include:
• Persistent fever
• Weight loss
• Loss of appetite
• Lethargy
• Fluid buildup in the abdomen or chest ("wet" FIP)
• Neurological signs such as wobbliness or seizures
• Eye inflammation or vision changes
🐾 Who is most at risk?
• Kittens and young cats
• Cats living in multi-cat environments
• Cats under stress or with weakened immune systems
✅ The good news: FIP is no longer considered an automatic death sentence. Effective antiviral treatments are now available in many countries, and early diagnosis can significantly improve outcomes.
