🚨 DOG OWNERS PLEASE BE AWARE OF BLUE-GREEN ALGAE 🐾
⚠️ There is currently a confirmed blue-green algae bloom in the River Thames between Sunbury Lock and Teddington Lock, including areas around Ham and Kingston.
Some types of blue-green algae can produce toxins that are potentially harmful to dogs. You cannot reliably tell whether algae is toxic simply by looking at it, so please treat any visible algae or affected water as potentially dangerous.
🐶 Please keep your dog away from:
• Water showing green/blue-green streaks or paint-like deposits
• Algae collecting along the riverbank
• Any areas displaying warning signs
• The affected stretch of the Thames, including near Teddington and Ham
🚨If your dog has come into contact with affected water, contact us immediately, rinse them thoroughly with clean water and prevent them from licking their coat. Symptoms of blue- green algae poisoning include vomiting, diarrhoea, weakness, tremors, difficulty breathing, seizures or collapse.
