☀️ HOT WEATHER WARNING ☀️

As temperatures rise across England today up to 35 degrees, please remember that dogs and cats can suffer from heatstroke much faster than we do.
🐶 For dogs:
• Walk early morning or late evening only
• Check pavements with the back of your hand – if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for their paws
• Always carry water
• Never leave them in a car, even for a few minutes!

🐱 For cats:
• Make sure they have access to cool, shaded areas
• Provide multiple water bowls around the house and garden
• Consider adding ice cubes to water bowls
• Watch for excessive panting, lethargy, or drooling

♥️ Top hot weather tips:
✅ Freeze treats for enrichment
✅ Use cooling mats or damp towels
✅ Keep curtains closed during the hottest part of the day
✅ Offer wet food to help with hydration
✅ Brush out excess fur (but don't shave coats unless advised)

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include heavy panting, weakness, vomiting, confusion, collapse, or unresponsiveness. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet somewhere cool, offer water, and contact a vet immediately.

Stay safe and keep those paws and whiskers cool today! 🐾❤️

🐱 Meet Mouse!
Today this lovely girl is in for her spay surgery, vaccinations, and microchip thanks to the support of Protected Paws Charity. ❤️
Spaying is one of the most important things we can do for our cats. It helps prevent unwanted litters which reduces the number of cats ending up homeless, and can protect against certain health problems later in life. Every cat spayed is a step towards reducing the growing number of cats and kittens needing rescue ♥️

Meet Buddy, a 12-year-old Chihuahua who underwent an enucleation (eye removal) today. 🐾
Buddy's eye was already blind, but unfortunately it had become painful and was affecting his comfort and quality of life. Enucleation is often recommended in cases where a blind eye is causing ongoing pain, inflammation, or complications that can no longer be managed effectively.
Although it can seem like a big procedure, dogs adapt incredibly well to having one eye removed, especially when the eye was already non-functional. The main goal is to eliminate pain and allow them to return to a happy, comfortable life.
We wish Buddy a smooth recovery and plenty of rest, cuddles, and treats as he heals. ❤️

A scale and polish for gorgeous Rosie today ❤️

Did you know…Dental disease is one of the most common health issues in dogs, and it often starts below the gumline where you can't see it.
A scale and polish helps remove stubborn plaque and tartar, promotes healthier gums, freshens breath, and can help prevent more serious dental problems in the future. Keeping your dog's teeth clean isn't just about a brighter smile-it's an important part of their overall health and wellbeing. 🦷✨
Healthy mouth, happy dog! 🐶 🦷

Meet Thor 🤍
In for a quick weigh and to collect some Flea and Worm treatment.
🐾 Fun fact 🐾
Samoyeds have a double coat that acts like natural climate control. Their dense, fluffy undercoat keeps them warm in Arctic temperatures, while the outer coat helps reflect sunlight and insulate them from heat. Because of this their coat actually helps regulate body temperature in both cold and warm weather!
