🐾 Patient of the Week 🐾

This sweet girl is spending some time with our team after being diagnosed with a sand impaction—a condition we see more often in coastal communities than many pet owners realize.

Dogs can accidentally ingest sand while playing fetch, digging, carrying toys, or drinking water at the beach. In some cases, that sand can build up in the intestines and cause a blockage, leading to symptoms such as:
🏖️ Vomiting
🏖️ Diarrhea or constipation
🏖️ Decreased appetite
🏖️ Abdominal discomfort
🏖️ Lethargy

If your pet visits the beach regularly and begins showing any of these signs, it’s important to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.

Thankfully, this sweet lady is receiving the care she needs and plenty of love from our team. 💙
