Foreign bodies occur when your pet eats an object that is unable to pass through the gastrointestinal tract easily. This can include household objects, fabrics, toys and even bones. These objects can cause an obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, damage or even perforation of the intestines. If you suspect that your pet has ingested something, do not hesitate to call our office as soon as possible!

Why is it important to spay your female pets? Aside from reducing unwanted behaviors such as roaming and marking, it also has significant health benefits. By spaying your pet, you’re removing the risk of certain cancers and preventing uterine infections, such as a pyometra. A pyometra is a life-threatening bacterial infection that fills the uterus with pus. Scroll through the pictures to see an 8lb uterus in a 50lb dog, caused by a pyometra 😷
