We are a full service small animal hospital. We provide personal and individual care for you. We enjoy serving the families of our community.

Southern Hearts Animal Hospital is a small animal general practice hospital. We strive to provide personal and individual care to dogs and cats of all sizes and shapes! We are located in lovely Watkinsville, Georgia, an amazing community full of history and warmth. We are locally owned and operated. There is a current trend of large business corporations buying small privately owned veterinary hospitals. We believe this takes away from the personal and individual care that we strive for. This also impacts the local communities economically. We live in the communities we serve.

One of our team members recently found this sweet stray kitten and is hoping to find her a safe, loving forever home. ❤️

She is currently being cared for while we search for the right family. She deserves a chance to have a warm home, plenty of love, and someone to call her own.

We are beyond excited to welcome our newest veterinarian to the Southern Hearts Animal Hospital family, Dr. Annalee Miller! Originally from Marion, Arkansas, Dr. Miller recently moved to Georgia with her husband, who is continuing his veterinary education at UGA in Aviary Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Arkansas in 2021 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. Annalee was a standout in both colleges earning honors and multiple awards, including the Chi Omega Graduate School Leadership Award for Future DVM. She made large impacts through her volunteer and community service work, including mentoring pre-veterinary students. Dr. Miller’s special interests include internal medicine and ophthalmology.
Outside of work you can find Dr. Miller traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is married to Dr. Hayden Miller and they have two dogs, Duke and Louie!

One of our clients is trying her best to help a cat, named Jack, that she found as a stray. Jack has stomatitis, a painful dental disease, and needs all of his teeth pulled so that he can live a pain free life. Our client has asked for our help to raise funds for his dental procedure since this is such an expensive procedure which she was not prepared for.
