Welcome new Board Director Rachel Masen! She's been around a very long time & has recapped her years with us. And we do agree with Rachel's assessment, we are now in our best phase ever!

In 2011 I met a nice lady at a local horse event that ran an OTTB rescue in my area. I being a big racing fan at the time was quick to volunteer. That organization was Neigh Savers Foundation. In that time since, I worked for Golden Gate Fields helping to rehome racehorses. I've done work with CARMA...

Recently I spent some magical days at the Sanctuary. So many more new improvements. We're building an enclosed tack room with all reclaimed materials attached to our old blue barn.

The fencing is continuing. However, we only have 7 fence sponsors at this point. Hay is being harvested...we hope to have close to 500 bales. The bees have been busy & I have a very small jar of honey with comb! The raspberries are getting to full ripeness so jams & pies are on the horizon. Plus, the horses all look great!

Just a little time at the Sanctuary & the horses look like a million bucks! These are our newest arrivals within the last 2 months!!

The dark bay is an 18 yo Thoroughbred mare, a former racer & then broodmare with the racing name of Grasp. We call her Gretel.

The bay is JJ & is a 10 yo Thoroughbred gelding, unraced. He is chipped but was never registered with the Jockey Club.

The last horse is an Andalusian 8 yo mare who had a horrific accident as a youngster & cannot be ridden.

The Neigh Savers' BBQ was held on a beautiful spring day.

We were fortunate to make new friends, including local people who had known Helen but hadn't seen the Sanctuary since we've made significant upgrades.

Board Directors Caroline Holmes & Paul Nathan presented us with a lovely sign so we can publicly display our presence in the community.

Thank you to all the volunteers & guests that drove from near & far to help us celebrate.

Our Sanctuary Manager Sarah enjoys these beautiful mornings & her coffee with the horses!

Spring has definitely sprung & we hope the cold & wet weather is now mostly behind us.

To the left you see the old restored barn. The large structure to the right is our current hay barn that will be converted to an activity center. It will hold a covered round pen, paddocks on the side & a washing rack.

The structure in front of the activity barn is the newly constructed mare motel.
