Big horse Show this Saturday in Walnut Creek! And FREE to come and watch. At the back of Heather Farm park..

Our next show number 5 of 13 held this year - will be held this Saturday - June 6.

All Show Date list shown at bottom of this post.

* All shows will be held at ECWC (390 N San Carlos Drive in Walnut Creek, Calif.
* Groovy Gorditas food truck will be at all shows
* Official Judge for all shows is Sharon Drake.
* Leadline will start at 8:30am at all shows, competitive starts after leadline
* All shows are CSHA Point Shows
* You do not need to be a CSHA/Club member - our shows are open to everyone. Turn in day of registration form/fee/waviers and get ready to compete
* Must signup prior to your first CSHA Point show - if you want to participate in our Region 5 year end program and/or CSHA SCS (State Championship Show)

Remaining Show Dates - Plenty of time to get signed up for the Region 5 Gymkhana and/or SCS(State) - come see us at the registration desk or email for details.

Get on the timesheets early (would be nice for show staff but not necessary) email Gina - if you wake up Saturday and decide you want to compete - just come on out.

We had such a great time celebrating Memorial Day weekend at our 2026 Horse show! The Equestrian Center of Walnut Creek wants to thank all the youth and adult riders, trainers, horses, ponies, family, friends, volunteers, staff, and judges for coming out. We loved having you and hope to see you again soon.

Heck, become an arena member and you can bring your horses & ponies to ride in the https://www.ecwc.org/ arenas year round!

When you receive recognition for your efforts from an international equestrian organization like the International Horsemanship Foundation it is special.

We recently received the honor of a donation from IHF toward our Annual Horse Show which funds our work to maintain ECWC’s arenas and facilities.

Andrew Turnbull, IHF’s Executive Director, lives locally and also supports us with his time and expertise as ECWC’s representative with the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau. As Andrew says, when you are the only cowboy hat in the room, you can attract some attention. He relishes this opportunity to speak with passion for horses and the value they bring to all who ride them, care for them and/or have a therapeutic relationship with them.

Our hats are off to IHF and their team of wonderful horsewomen and men like Andrew Turnbull.

Rescue Update! We are on our way home (Calif) from Texas with 11 miniature horses,3 mini donkeys in desperate " need" of care and Rehab . They have severe hoof issues, poor teeth, and are pretty underweight. They have great potential, but we need to start working our magic immediately.
We will be arriving today, May 25th

The Equestrian Center of Walnut Creek partners with many different organizations to maintain a place for the love and riding of horses in Walnut Creek. One critically important organization here in the East Bay that chooses to support us is the Diablo Equestrian Heritage Foundation aka DEHA.

https://diabloequestrianheritage.org/ works to preserve equestrian activities and heritage.

ECWC is incredibly fortunate to have qualified for grants and a recent and generous donation from DEHA to help us have events like our annual horse show last weekend and to keep the ECWC riding arenas, facilities and grounds in the best possible condition.

Hats off to Brian Pepper and all the forward thinking board members and supporters of this wonderful organization for caring to protect the equestrian lifestyle and the space for it in our beautiful East Bay for many generations to come!

Commenting here as Jane VanderWerf, this horse girl spent her entire youth riding saddlebred horses, and it is hard to describe how happy it makes me to see a saddlebred trotting down the rail at the ECWC! ❤️

Sooo we had a big show yesterday and a couple of us Gayle Eckman Jones and Gayle Jackson got together today to clean the arenas since someone(me) 😅 forgot to announce for volunteers to do this after the show.

Please 🙏 arena members, bring pitchforks in your horse trailers and clean up around trailer and arena before you leave and take manure home with you- please do not put in trash cans.

Fun thing happened when we arrived at the arenas for the cleanup: we met new arena members 🙌 and their gorgeous American saddlebred horse! Their barn is in Lafayette: The Boe Ranch, they are on facebook (see picture) and Scott Boe is a farrier!

Let’s all welcome the Scott and Teddi Boe Family and their Saddlebred horses to ECWC!
