BOLO - LOST - โ€œFRUIT BATโ€ aka โ€œTootie Fruityโ€

Fruit Bat is an adult spayed female, microchipped, medium sized hound dog. She got spooked on a morning walk at the shelter (341 S Birdneck Rd) and ran off. Last sighting she was headed south on Birdneck Rd. She is shy of new people but incredibly sweet. LOVES DOGS and may follow you and your dog home. Bat Girl can climb fences (even 6ft) so if you find her please bring her inside or keep a lead on her.

Call 757-385-5000 or bring her to us at the shelter. We are terribly worried ๐Ÿ˜“.

Cooper first came to us as a stray in July 2024. He was adopted quickly but returned when it wasnโ€™t the right fit because he was a resource guarder. Thankfully, his second adoption turned out to be the ๐’‘๐’†๐’“๐’‡๐’†๐’„๐’• match!

Hereโ€™s what his family has to say a year later:

โ€œWe got Cooper a little over a year ago on August 31st and he was skin and bones. Now heโ€™s 60 lbs of pure sweetness! He thinks heโ€™s the size of a Chihuahua and always finds his way onto us. He never leaves his mommaโ€™s side! He loves the outdoors, swimming, playing with his park friends, and of course, his endless supply of toys. Overall, heโ€™s the best decision we couldโ€™ve made!โ€
