Lil Roar Cat Rescue (LRCR) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit cat rescue organization located in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area. LRCR’s primary missions are to 1) spay and neuter community (feral) cats 2) find “forever” homes through our foster care program for adoptable stray cats and kittens found 3) educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering all cats to address the cat overpopulat

ion problem in our area. When young kittens are caught during our trapping projects, our fosters socialize them so they can be put up for adoption once they are vetted and at a minimum 8-10 weeks of age. These tame cats enter our adoption program, are vetted, and once deemed healthy, begin the search for their forever homes. We had a good run the past few months... managed to knock out a bunch of surgeries and even got this close 🤏🏻 to being caught up on spays and neuters. Buuutttt… as always, rescue life comes with a price tag. 😭

💙 Meet Ghost aka Tippy 💙

This sweet boy’s whole world changed when his beloved owner passed away. She loved him deeply and wished for all her assets to go to charity, and now it’s our turn to make sure her boy finds the forever love he deserves.

Ghost, affectionately called Tippy, is a handsome Russian Blue mix who once split his time between indoors and outdoors. He even had a daily routine of visiting the doctor’s office next door, where the staff fed him, spoiled him with toys and treats, and adored his visits. He truly knows how to make friends wherever he goes.

Ghost is FIV+, but that’s not the scary diagnosis people think it is. With regular vet visits and a caring owner who keeps an eye on his health, FIV+ cats can live long, happy, healthy lives. What Ghost really needs is someone who will love him like family, keep him safe indoors, and give him the stability he’s lost.

We would love to see Ghost adopted with his buddy ZZ, whose adoption fee has already been sponsored. Together, they’d make the most perfect pair.

This sweet little family is the definition of No Mama Left Behind. Mama Paramore is barely out of kittenhood herself, yet she has been the most loving and protective mom to her only baby, Paul Simon.

Paul Simon had a rough start, born breech and premature, but with Mama Paramore’s care (and a kind citizen who stepped in to help), he has grown into a healthy, happy boy full of kitten curiosity and charm.

These two are bonded and must be adopted together. Mama Paramore deserves the security of a forever home right alongside her baby, and Paul Simon deserves to grow up with the comfort of the only mom he’s ever known. Thanks to our No Mama Left Behind policy, Mama Paramore’s adoption donation is waived when she’s adopted with her baby.

We still need a foster for Mama Watermelon and her babies.

Mama Watermelon is only 9 months old herself, but she has been an incredible mama to her five little ones; Wallen, Wren, and Whale (girls) and Willie and Waylon (boys), who are just three weeks old.

Her current foster home isn’t the best fit for her. She’s great with adults and children, but she does not get along with other animals. She either needs to be the only pet in the home or have her own safe room with her babies where they can free roam.

We provide everything you need: food, litter, toys, beds, and all medical care. All you need to give is a safe space and love while this little family grows.

🌞 Meet Mama Zyn | From Porch Queen to Indoor Darling 🌞

Mama Zyn spent her early life living in a kind lady’s backyard, soaking up the sun and ruling her porch with her feisty charm. When she became pregnant, the lady made her a cozy box to give birth in… but Zyn had other plans. She proudly had her babies right on the porch by the back door, making sure everyone could admire her little family.

This young mama has been through a lot, and at first she was fiercely protective of her babies. But once she realized she was safe, the food was good, and her foster mom meant well, her tough exterior started to soften. Now, she is learning that the good life includes head scratches, cozy lounging spots, and gentle people who let her go at her own pace.

She’s still shy with new people, but she’s made incredible progress and shows more love and trust every single day. She adores her kittens, enjoys her meals, and is slowly discovering that being spoiled inside is much better than surviving outside.

🐾 Meet Mama Poodles | The Queen of Her Castle 🐾

Mama Poodles had a rough start, coming to us malnourished and flea-covered with four babies in tow (one who may not have even been hers, but she cared for anyway). Despite everything, this young mama did her job with love and determination, and now she’s ready for her forever home.

Poodles is a cat who knows what she likes and what she doesn’t. She adores head rubs and will happily soak up affection when it’s on her terms. But she’s not a fan of being picked up or fussed with anywhere else, and she’ll let you know it. She’s not the kitty for a busy household with kids or dogs, but for someone who appreciates a strong-willed queen with boundaries, she’s absolute perfection.

Mama Poodles is the kind of cat who will remind you every day that love can look different... sometimes it’s a head butt, sometimes it’s simply choosing to sit near you and share her space. And if you’re lucky enough to be her person, you’ll have the privilege of loving a survivor with the heart of a true matriarch.

Right now, Lil Roar is feeding over 150 adult cats and more than 60 kittens every single day. That adds up to 55–65 cups of kibble and over 100 cans of wet food every 24 hours across the rescue! Nursing mamas and growing babies eat around the clock, and we can’t keep their bowls full without you.
