Lil Roar Cat Rescue (LRCR) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit cat rescue organization located in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area. LRCR’s primary missions are to 1) spay and neuter community (feral) cats 2) find “forever” homes through our foster care program for adoptable stray cats and kittens found 3) educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering all cats to address the cat overpopulation problem in our area. When young kittens are caught during our trapping projects, our fosters socialize them so they can be put up for adoption once they are vetted and at a minimum 8-10 weeks of age. These tame cats enter our adoption program, are vetted, and once deemed healthy, begin the search for their forever homes. Zen's name may sound peaceful, but this little girl has A LOT to say! 💕

At 9 weeks old, Zen is an adorable white-and-black kitten with a big voice and an even bigger love for her people. She is a total sweetheart who loves attention, cuddles, and being as close to her humans as possible.

Zen is a professional lap baby with a purr motor that apparently has no off switch. When she is not busy snuggling, she is happily chatting away with her adorable little meows.

This sweet girl is looking for a family who appreciates a talkative, affectionate kitten and has a lap ready for all the cuddles she has to offer.

Zen may be tiny, but she has more than enough love to fill an entire home!

Xtra Crispy is serving up plenty of personality, with a side of kitten chaos! 😂

At 10 weeks old, Xtra Crispy is one of Mama Xamia's five adorable tabby babies, and this little guy is full of energy, curiosity, and love!

He spends his days wrestling with his siblings, climbing all over Mama, exploring, and getting into just about everything. But don't let all that kitten energy fool you, Xtra Crispy is also a HUGE fan of attention and cuddles.

The second someone walks into the room, he comes running to greet them and see what is going on. He loves being held and wants to be included in whatever his humans are doing.

Xtra Crispy is playful, social, and ready to find a family who can keep up with all his kitten shenanigans!

🎃 Happy Halloween from all of us at Lil Roar Cat Rescue! 🐈‍⬛

It's officially the one day of the year when black cats, strange middle-of-the-night noises, and tiny creatures running around causing chaos are considered festive instead of just another normal day at the rescue. 😂

Of course, around here, we've got plenty of little monsters who don't need Halloween as an excuse to cause trouble. Between the 3 AM zoomies, mysterious crashes, and tiny gremlins demanding food like they haven't eaten in a week, we're pretty much living in a haunted house year-round.

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween filled with lots of treats, a little mischief, and maybe even a few extra cuddles from your favorite furry monsters!

And just a friendly reminder: black cats aren't bad luck. They're just adorable little weirdos who deserve all the love in the world.

Mama Yvette has raised her babies, survived life outdoors, and is now ready to spend the rest of her days being spoiled rotten! ❤️

At 4 years old, Mama Yvette is a beautiful black and white cow cat with the cutest little expressive eyebrows. She spent two years outdoors before being rescued with her four kittens, and now that her babies are grown, it is finally HER turn!

Yvette is incredibly sweet, friendly, and affectionate. She loves attention and will happily offer up her belly and cheeks for pets. She is also a big fan of catnip, food, and carrying around her favorite cuddly toy.

She does well with other cats and kids and would be perfectly happy as an only cat or with a laid back feline friend.

Mama Yvette has done enough taking care of everyone else. Now she deserves a warm lap, a full food bowl, and a family to call her own.

Jashika has so much love left to give, and after losing the home she knew, she deserves another chance at a forever family. ❤️

At 7 years old, Jashika is a sweet gray and white girl who came into our care with several other cats after her owner transitioned into a nursing home. Now she is hoping to find someone new to share her love with.

Jashika absolutely LOVES people. She lights up when someone enters the room, happily accepts pets, and even gives the cutest little love nibbles to show her appreciation. She also enjoys curling up beside you for a cozy, relaxing evening.

Jashika has some arthritis that gives her an adorable little hip wobble, but it certainly does not stop her! She takes a daily chewable supplement to help keep her comfortable and moving.

She would do best in a home with calm children and may do well with other friendly cats. Mostly, she just wants a family who will appreciate her gentle personality and give her all the affection she deserves.

No Mama Left Behind 🐾

I need y’all to hear me out on this one, because this matters more than people realize.

Everyone falls in love with the kittens, I get it. They are tiny, chaotic, and ridiculously cute. But the moms? The moms get left behind over and over again, and often they are still babies themselves.

So many of the mama cats we take in are only about 6 months to a year old. They had kittens before they even got a chance to just be kittens. They deserve a home just as much as their babies do.

That is exactly why we have our No Mama Left Behind program.

Here is how it works.
You can adopt ANY mama cat with a kitten for the price of just one kitten. Yes, really. You are not paying extra for the mom; we just want her to have a chance, too.

Every mama will be fully vetted and spayed before going home, so you are not taking on that responsibility either. Just giving her a safe, loving place to land.

And I want to be clear about something else. When we take in stray kittens, we do not just grab the babies and move on. We exhaust every effort to trap Mom, too. Because leaving her behind is not an option for us.

These moms are sweet, resilient, and so deserving of a life that is not just surviving outside or constantly having litter after litter.

Mama Serenity proves that sometimes the smallest steps forward are the biggest victories. 🖤

At 4 years old, Serenity is a beautiful black panther who's slowly learning that people aren't so scary after all. A few months ago, she preferred watching everyone from the highest shelf in the cat room. Now she is becoming braver, more curious, and even starting to accept gentle pets!

Serenity absolutely LOVES other cats and enjoys keeping watch over her feline friends from her favorite perch. She is also always first in line for food, and licky treats are definitely the way to her heart.

She is not quite ready to be a lap cat, but she is making progress every day. Serenity needs a calm home with an experienced, patient cat owner who understands that trust takes time.

She may not run into your arms on day one, but watching her confidence grow and knowing you helped her get there will be pretty special.

At 8 weeks old, Iah is an adorable gray boy with big, curious eyes and the sweetest little face. This little guy is full of charm and ready to find a family to call his own.

Iah does well with dogs, cats, and kids, making him a great addition to a family looking for a sweet little kitten to love.

Delaney is the outgoing sister, the professional cuddle bug, and apparently Daffodil's personal emotional support cat. ❤️

At 4 years old, Delaney is a beautiful gray-and-white girl who has no problem telling you what she wants. Whether it is time for dinner or she has decided she needs some attention, you WILL hear about it!

Delaney loves cuddling, sleeping beside her humans, and soaking up all the affection she can get. She is also the confident one of the two sisters, helping her more introverted sister Daffodil feel safe and secure.

Unfortunately, Delaney and Daffodil were recently surrendered through no fault of their own. These girls are bonded and MUST be adopted together. Delaney is Daffodil's comfort, and we won't separate them.

Delaney does great with dogs, cats, and kids! Now these sweet sisters just need a family ready to give them a forever home where they can stay together.

Join Lil Roar Cat Rescue for another PetSmart Charities Adopt Joy Adoption Event!

We'll bring some of our adoptable cats and kittens to Norfolk PetSmart for an afternoon to meet potential forever families. Every cat has a different personality, story, and level of chaos, and we would love to help you find the perfect match.

Our volunteers will also be available to answer questions about adopting, fostering, volunteering, and other ways to support the cats and kittens in our care.
