Hope for Life Staff Favorites — Vol. 8 🐾
Ari’s favorite is Sinky D**k 🐱

Here’s what Ari says:
“Sinky D**k is my favorite because she’s such a friendly little lady! She perks up the second she sees a friendly face and immediately leans in—rubbing her head right into the palm of your hand. 🥹✨ I truly think she’d make the best couch buddy.”

Sinky D**k came to us during one of the craziest intakes of 2025. On September 13th, after the SPCA in North Carolina shut down, we took in 21 cats (including kittens)—and she was one of them. She was an absolutely adorable little kitty, but she had to go to foster right away because of a ringworm storm.

She’s a ringworm survivor! 🐾✨
And now she’s thriving—healthy, beautiful, and 1 year 8 months old. 💛

At first glance, her face might look like she’s pouting… like, “Are you mad?”
Nope—she’s actually happy all the time! 😆💕

She’s a pro on the catwalks, always purring, always in a great mood.
And she’s guaranteed to make you smile every single day. 😊✨

🐾 Sinky D**k is ready for her forever home—submit your adoption application right now! 📝🏡

💖 Seraphina! 💖

Seraphina is a 2.5-year-old sweetheart who came to us with her adorable kittens. Now that her little ones are grown, she’s ready for her forever home! 😺

This loving girl enjoys playtime and long, luxurious naps in equal measure. She gets along well with other cats who respect her space and has recently shown she does great with smaller dogs too! 🐾

If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and cuddly companion, Seraphina is the perfect addition to your family.

UPDATE ON SIMBA & W***Y 🙏

Original post:

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16nrQpVGs7/?mibextid=wwXIfr

We posted an update on W***y yesterday:

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Mg3FqWvv4/?mibextid=wwXIfr

But also wanted to update everyone on Simba. Fortunately, his ultrasound revealed that he did not have a blockage, but he did have an infection in his intestines that caused localized swelling which looked like a potential blockage on his initial x-ray. He was started on antibiotics and after further hospitalization, he was able to be released. He is now back in his foster home recovering. ❤️‍🩹☺️

His vet bill, along with W***y’s added up to about $7,000 😣. As we said in our original post, with it being a holiday, we didn’t have any choice but to have them seen at the emergency vet which is unfortunately much more expensive. We are so grateful to those who donated and helped us cover some of this cost! 🙏

Please keep W***y in your prayers as despite being released from hospitalization this morning, is still not out of the woods.

We’ve unfortunately had to rely on the emergency vet more frequently in recent weeks, which is a direct result of the number of animals we’ve taken in who were neglected and did not receive basic medical care before coming to us. Many arrive unvaccinated, untreated, and already dealing with preventable illnesses, and sometimes emergency care is the only option to give them a chance.

This is one of the realities of the work we do, and it’s also why ongoing support is so critical. If you’d like to help directly, donations can go toward covering the remaining emergency costs for W***y and Simba, or you can donate to our Rainy Day Fund, which was created specifically to help cover unexpected and urgent medical situations like these.

Sleepovers Needed for Yarra and Her Puppies 🐾

Yarra and her six puppies are arriving at our facility today. Due to limited space, we’re looking for sleepover homes to help give them room to settle in. These are standard sleepovers, not quarantine placements.

Although the puppies are old enough to be separated from mom, we would like to temporarily keep two puppies with Yara, as that seems to be the best setup for her right now. We were also told that Yara does well with other dogs.

Sleepover needs:

🐾 1 sleepover for Yara + 2 puppies together

🐾 2 additional sleepovers for 2 puppies each

If you’re able to help with one of these options, please sign up using the link below. Once we have a more exact pick up time, we will reach out if you sign up. The length of sleepover can also vary.

Thank you! 🙏

🐾🧡 Mitsubi is Waiting for You! 🧡🐾

Mitsubi is a 4-year-old male cat who has been at the rescue for 2 years. He’s cat selective, likes his own space, and is okay with dogs. He can be a spicy boy, so best in a home without young children.

If you have a calm, patient home and are ready for a cat with personality and charm, Mitsubi could be your perfect match! 🐱💛

If you’ve been following along, you know our rescue has been overwhelmed lately. 💔
The good news is that W***y Wellington is finally on the upswing after being hospitalized for parvo. We’re cautiously optimistic and planning for him to be discharged tomorrow morning.

This is where we need help.

We are urgently looking for a foster willing to take W***y in as he continues his recovery. He will need:
• Frequent, small meals throughout the day
• Consistent monitoring
• A home with no dogs
• Availability to start as soon as possible

We will teach you everything you need to know, and all supplies are provided.

This sweet boy has been through so much over the past few days, and the coming days are critical for his recovery. A calm, loving foster home could make all the difference. 🤍

If you’re willing and able to help W***y, please comment below.

Please also consider donating towards his care. We’ve been stretched thin and this many sick animals has us counting every penny donated. Every little bit is a HUGE help!

💙 Zoomies Queen Alert! 💙

Missy Blue is a 3-year-old playful pup ready to find her forever home! Most of her babies are already adopted, so now it’s her turn to be spoiled. 😍

She loves to run, play, and show off her energy—hence her title, Zoomies Queen! Missy is selective with dog friends and is still learning manners, so she’s best in a home without young children.

Think you can keep up with her fun-loving personality? 🐾

🌸 Baklava! 🌸

Baklava is a 4-year-old sweetheart looking for her forever home! 💛 She is affectionate and loving, but like many cats, she’ll let you know when she needs a little personal space. A big no-go? Being picked up—she prefers to keep her paws on the ground! 😺

She’s playful and curious, but she likes her boundaries respected. Other cats need to give her space, so a calm feline friend is ideal. We’re not sure about dogs, so a cat-only home might be best for now.

Baklava is ready to bring love and fun to a home that appreciates her personality! 🐾

Foster Spotlight: Miss Coco Cabana 🐾

Please hear from her foster mama, Lisa 💛

Miss Coco Cabana is a sweet senior gal with a bright spirit. Her exact age is unknown, but she’s doing amazingly well—she’s in great health for her age, with just a mild heart murmur and a little joint sensitivity.

Coco can take a bit to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she’ll become your little shadow. 🐾✨ She truly just wants to be wherever you are.

🐶:Dog friends: Coco can be selective with other dogs—sometimes she wants to play, and other times she takes an immediate dislike.

❤️ Favorite things: short walks and squeaky toys!

👨‍🦱👧 People: She’s fine with men, and she has liked kids we’ve met on walks. That said, she has snapped unexpectedly a couple of times (not at kids), so we’d recommend caution around younger children.

Coco came to HFL during a very hot July. ☀️
Her owner passed away, and she suddenly had nowhere to go.

And here’s the part that made all of our staff’s eyes pop… 😳
When you hear “Chihuahua,” you picture a tiny 11–15 lb pup, right?

But Coco arrived weighing 26 lbs—a big, out-of-breath “giant Chihuahua.”

Thanks to a warm foster home, lots of love, and a healthy diet, Coco is now down to 17 lbs, and she’s becoming more active and energetic every day!

Coco is ready for a calm, loving home where she can stay close to her person and enjoy the sweet senior life she deserves. 🏡💛

Message us if you’re interested in her!! 😊
