🐾 Why do pets hide illness?
One of the reasons regular wellness exams are so important is that pets often don't show pain or illness the way we expect them to.
Many animals instinctively hide discomfort, and some conditions develop so gradually that the signs can be easy to miss. What may seem like "just slowing down with age" or a small change in routine can sometimes be your pet's way of telling us something isn't quite right.
A few subtle signs to watch for:
🐾 Sleeping more than usual
🐾 Less interest in walks, playtime, or favorite activities
🐾 Changes in appetite or drinking habits
🐾 Difficulty jumping, climbing stairs, or getting comfortable
🐾 Changes in mood, behavior, or personality
That's why routine veterinary exams are so valuable. They give us a chance to pick up on subtle changes that pets may not be showing at home—and help keep small issues from becoming bigger ones.
🐾 If something about your pet has been making you wonder, trust your instincts. We're always happy to talk through concerns and help you decide whether it's time for a visit!
