Starting off hot; I’m not here to say the nice things you want to hear. That would be taking advantage of you. If you want that, go locate your positive only trainer 😘
Let’s be honest. This is an example of humanizing your dog. But the truth is, your dog is reacting to patterns
“My dOg LoveS to lIsTen tO mE aNd sEe mE haPpy”
No, your dog is looking forward to you rewarding him and that’s why he listened. He wants his paycheck. Same reason you go in to work. He also doesn’t want the correction that follows, if he doesn’t listen. Same reason you don’t break rules at work
There has to be a reliable reward/correction balance to ensure you have a reliable dog though.
As man’s best friend, We like to assume they’re capable of more but it’s just not the reality. Once we understand the give and take with dogs, we can better provide a fulfilling life and thrive with them
But don’t assume your dog makes decisions based off of your happiness or not. It’s just not true
