Another incredible week at ARC!
This week, our team cared for 190 pets through spay/neuter surgeries for public pets, wellness care, feral cat services, and rescue partner procedures.

Of those patients, 27 rescue pets received free spay/neuter surgery through our Ready Set Rescue! program, helping our rescue partners prepare animals from overcrowded shelters for adoption. We are especially grateful to the The Golisano Foundation for supporting the expansion of this program and helping make this lifesaving work possible for more rescue animals across our community!

As National Chip Your Pet Month comes to a close, the importance of microchipping is hitting especially close to home for us at ARC.

Our lead vet tech, Vicky, recently reunited with her beloved cat after he had been missing for 50 days. She posted in all the groups and put up signs, but what ultimately brought him home was his microchip. He was found wandering all the way in North Port while she lives in Sarasota — and because he was microchipped, Animal Services was able to contact her and bring him home safely.

It’s a powerful reminder that this can happen to anyone, and that it’s never too late to microchip your pet. If your pet needs a microchip, you can book an appointment at www.arcsrq.org
