🚨🐴 Do You Have an Emergency Plan? 🐴🚨
One of the most important (but often overlooked) parts of horse ownership is having a way to transport your horse in an emergency. Whether it’s a colic that needs immediate veterinary care, a sudden injury, a barn fire, or even dangerous weather moving in, being able to move your horse quickly can save their life.
✅ If you own a trailer, make sure it’s safe, road-ready, and that your horse loads well.
✅ If you don’t have one, build a plan NOW! Talk to trusted friends, neighbors, or local horse groups and find someone willing to haul for you in an emergency. Save their number in your phone and keep it somewhere easy to grab.
✅ Practice loading so your horse isn’t stressed when time is critical.
Emergencies don’t wait, and the last thing you want is to be scrambling when every minute counts. Having a trailer—or a reliable contact who can haul for you—is just as essential as a good vet, proper feed, and safe fencing.
👉 Take a few minutes today to check your plan. Your horse’s life could depend on it.
