Meet Mercedes!

This incredible 3-year-old tripod Border Collie is a living proof that resilience has a heartbeat.

Mercedes was dumped in front of our rescue, severely injured, malnourished, and covered in fleas and ticks. After rushing her to the hospital, the vet revealed that her leg had been broken and left untreated for quite some time, and she was too weak to survive surgery at first. After 4 months of rehab, strength-building, and love, Mercedes finally underwent a life-changing amputation. And through it all? Her spirit never dimmed. In fact, she has the strongest spirit, she came out of surgery with the biggest smile and now moves through life as if she doesn’t even realize she’s missing a limb.

She is everything you could want in a companion:
✨ Sweet, trusting, and deeply affectionate
✨ Great with dogs AND cats
✨ Loyal and people-loving
✨ Smart and eager to learn (classic Border Collie!)

Mercedes is currently in formal dog training class and thriving, she’s picking up leash skills, basic commands, and polite social manners beautifully. She’s also mostly housebroken and ready to find her forever family where she’ll never be abandoned again.
