We never anticipated sharing this kind of news, but our storage unit was broken into, and nearly everything was stolen. This is a heartbreaking loss for us, as we had gathered a significant amount of food and supplies for our fosters and rescue cats. The lock was destroyed, and countless cat supplies were taken. While we can’t fathom the motives behind such an act, we sincerely hope these items are used to help cats in need.

We’re reaching out to our community for support, as the value of the stolen supplies is substantial. Our inventory is now critically low, with only a few supplies remaining in San Diego, and our Moreno Valley storage unit is nearly empty.

Foster needed for 3 young kitten siblings!

Looking for a dedicated foster to pick up 3 kittens from their spay/neuter appts tomorrow, with an opportunity to foster until adopted. All 3 are very friendly and do well with other cats, dogs, & children.

They are also available for adoption so this would be a great way to do a trial run before adopting if you are thinking of making a new addition to your family soon. 😉

Urgent foster needed for young female kitty 🚨

We are looking for a foster or an adopter for a young female long haired kitty. She gets along with other cats and calm dogs. She loves humans & would do well with children. Her current situation is time sensitive and she needs foster ASAP.

Lynda holds the title of our adoption/foster coordinator, but she does so much more… basically, she’s a badass! Lynda has come to the aid of so many kitties, finding urgent placements, coordinating all our donations, fosters, adopters, and even fostering some kitties on her own. If you’ve adopted from us or fostered for us, you’ve definitely had the pleasure of meeting Lynda ⊹₊⟡⋆

Update on Chihiro!

As many of you may have seen in our last post, Chihiro is one of our newest intakes. He arrived in our care suffering from severe diarrhea. Following our protocol, we provided him with fluids, immune support, dewormer, and other precautionary measures to help improve his health. Initially, he was reluctant to eat, so we had to syringe feed him.

Unfortunately, his condition worsened, and we decided to take him to the wonderful team at Moonlight Veterinary Center. After a thorough examination, they developed a treatment plan for him. We’re thrilled to report that Chihiro now has a BIG appetite and solid stools! There was a moment when we feared the worst, but his resilience shines through.

Regarding his diagnosis, Chihiro tested negative for all parasites, confirming that the deworming was effective. However, his diarrhea PCR testing revealed one concerning result: he tested positive for salmonella.

This news is truly heartbreaking. We can only imagine the living conditions he endured before coming to us, especially given that he was abandoned and extremely malnourished. It’s evident he was not receiving any nutritious food, which likely led to his salmonella infection from what he had to eat to survive. On a brighter note, he has fought through this challenge and is now feeling much better. Our hearts ache for him and for the family he left behind.

Meet Chihiro, a kitten whose story tugs at our hearts.

While our transporter was picking up some kittens, she discovered a lonely cry coming from a carrier on a bench. The person who abandoned him claimed to be “sick of cats” and wanted him euthanized. With the shelter closed for the night, he faced a long, terrifying wait alone. We couldn’t let that happen, so we immediately took him in. When he arrived, he was visibly shaking and scared. To my surprise, as soon as I held him, he began to purr and melted into my arms. Now, he loves to sleep under covers and makes biscuits while suckling on his blanket. My heart aches for what he’s endured, but I’m completely obsessed with him.

This adorable bonded pair is on the lookout for a foster home! They’re currently in San Diego and need to stay together—one boy and one girl. They’ve both tested negative for panleuk and have gotten their first FVRCP vaccine!

We’re excited to share the long awaited update on our two most sought after kittens, Harry and Gnarly! 🪩🕺🥪

After receiving countless inquiries and applications, we’re happy to announce that they’ve both found their forever homes! They’re all settled in now and have already grown so much. Harry, now named Ozzie, has a new best friend, as you can see in the pictures :’) … Too cute to handle! Gnarly is now Bint, and she adores her new sister!

We sincerely apologize if you submitted an application and were not selected for adoption. We understand how disappointing that can be. However, we assure you that many more kittens will be available for adoption soon! With numerous kittens already in foster homes and many more needing rescue every day, we promise there will be plenty of adorable kittens for everyone! 🤍

Hey everyone! Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet on social media lately. A lot has been happening behind the scenes! Here’s a quick update and a little explanation of where we’ve been :)

As many of you know, Femme Felines is run by just the two of us, Lynda and Emy. While we put a ton of time and love into Femme Felines, we’ve got a lot going on outside of it too! 🤍

Lynda just got accepted into nursing school! I’m so proud of her! Even with classes every day, she still makes time to respond to emails, handle intakes, and take care of her own foster kittens. As for me, Emy, I’m juggling another job and spending a lot of time underwater swimming because I’m on my own journey! Along with handling much of the medical side of the rescue, I also foster my own kitties!

But enough about us—let’s talk about our kitties! ⋆˙⟡ We’ve had so many adoptions lately! We can’t wait to share some updated photos of our fur babies in their new forever homes. They’re realllly cute!! Plus, we have a mama cat with her kittens and some new rescues to introduce soon!

We’ve got some exciting things coming up, including events you can get involved in! Stay tuned!
