Summer is for exploring, and your pet deserves to be part of the adventure. Whether you are planning a road trip, a weekend away, or a visit to family, a little preparation goes a long way.

Pack familiar items to help your pet feel at ease in new places. Plan for regular breaks, fresh water, and a comfortable spot in the car. And before you hit the road, check in with your veterinary team to make sure your pet is ready for the journey.

Summer means more time outside, and more time outside means more exposure to fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. These parasites can affect your pet’s comfort, health, and overall happiness.

The good news is that prevention is easier than treatment. With a little foresight and the right plan, your pet can enjoy every backyard hangout, hike, and road trip this season. Ask our veterinary team about summer parasite protection.

Trick question — it depends on the fur! 🐾
Here's a quick guide:

🐩 Short coat (Beagle, Boxer): every 6–8 weeks

🦮 Long coat (Golden, Collie): every 4–6 weeks

🐶 Double coat (Husky, Lab): every 6–8 weeks

😤 Wrinkly breeds (Bulldog, Shar Pei): every 2–4 weeks

🐱 Most cats: they've got it covered — unless they don't
Over-bathing can dry out their skin. Under-bathing and… well, you know. 😅
Summer means more outdoor time, more dirt, and more reasons to keep that coat fresh. 🌞

Most pet owners have thought about what they would grab in an emergency, but not everyone has included their pets in the plan.

July 15 is Pet Fire Safety Day, which is as perfect a time as any to take a few small steps now that could make a big difference later. Place a pet alert sticker on your window so responders know animals are inside. Keep a go-bag with food, water, and medical records near the door. And make sure your pet is part of every practice drill. Protecting your pet is part of protecting your home.
