Lady Bug, with her veterinarian Dr. Rethman, being discharged from the hospital after her emergency splenectomy. She came to us yesterday acting lethargic, and a mass was found on her spleen during an ultrasound. Her spleen and the tumor were removed, and she is feeling MUCH better now! She will be back to giving her famous "Bug Hugs" in no time! ❤️
Everyone wish Miss Lady Bug a smooth and speedy recovery!

One of our lead technicians, Erin, is getting trained to use our brand new ultrasound machine! (And Barkley, our beloved clinic cat, is our not-so-excited volunteer patient 😺)

Ultrasound is a great imaging modality that can be used to visualize internal abdominal organs, evaluate for the spread of cancer, diagnose heart disease, and much more! We are excited to have this new diagnostic tool in-house to better serve our clients and their fur babies 🐶🐈🐾

Thank you Bracken Plumbing!!! Got our back flow preventer leak fixed and our inside water line leak secured. We will be fully operational and back to normal business hours on Monday!

02/20/2021

Our water leak has been fixed and we will be fully operational Monday morning!!

02/20/2021

We are open and resuming normal business hours! Unfortunately however, we suffered a bursted water pipe and are without water for now, thus putting some limits on our operational capibilities. Until our water is back on we will not be scheduling any dental proceedures or elective surgeries. We expect our plumber to be here tomorrow or Sunday but know that plumbers state wide are slammed with disaster calls so we'll see. I will post an update as soon as everything is fixed.

02/18/2021

We plan to be open Friday 2/19 from 12:00 to 6:00pm. Urgent and critical cases will be given priority. No elective procedures until next week! Call before you come.

snow day

Made it into the clinic today for mid-day walks for the few boarders that are with us. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get there with the roads as they are.
Have to give a shout-out of gratitude to one of our kennel technicians, Noah Shorr, who WALKED to the clinic at sunrise to walk and feed every pet at the clinic. He’s back there again right now taking care of all the animals!

❗️UPDATE❗️
The eastbound lanes of I-10 at the Kendall County line have been reopened.
The westbound lanes of I-10 at Boerne Stage rd have been reduced to one lane. Use caution when driving. Watch for ice on the roads, decrease your speeds and increase your distance between vehicles.

I went to Vet School with Dr. Mosley. A great Veterinarian and outstanding person. Very glad to have him practicing in here in San Antonio!!!

We are excited to welcome, Dr. Alan Mosley to our Emergency Medicine team!

Dr. Mosley is a Texas native and a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Since then, he has practiced in multiple locales across the United States and even spent some time across the pond in the United Kingdom! We are happy to welcome him back to Texas, and we know that he is excited to get to know our amazing clients and the local San Antonio veterinary community. Please help us give him a warm welcome!

As is explained here, we will be taking inventory tomorrow and getting as many of our PPE supplies sent over to University Hospital as we can possibly spare. As a result, we will be holding off on scheduling elective surgeries, dental cleanings and other procedures that require PPE for the safety of our staff.

ACT NOW

CALL TO ACTION: Texas Veterinarians Asked to Donate Personal Protective Equipment

With the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) in hospitals growing worse by the day, Texas State Senator Lois Kolkhorst, chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, has asked TVMA to “Act Now.” Senator Kolkhorst personally contacted TVMA’s leadership to ask that we urge veterinarians to donate any PPE that can be spared. This includes masks, gloves, face shields, gowns, booties, hair covers, etc. These supplies should be donated to local hospitals as soon as possible. Due to a lack of ventilators at hospitals, veterinarians are also asked to consider loaning such equipment if possible.

Thank you!

In effort to keep our staff available to care for our clinical patients and reduce the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented rigorous cleaning protocols. We are also not accepting new boarding reservations for the next 2 - 4 weeks. (with the exception of emergency situations to be approved by Dr. Huehn) We will continue our normal business hours as of now. Please feel free to contact the clinic for any additional updates.

It may be tempting for pet owners to share their Thanksgiving leftovers with their furry friends, but some of those delicious table scraps are toxic to pets. We encourage you to share this TexVetPets article by TVMA member Paula Plummer, LVT, with your clients before their Thanksgiving feast! https://tinyurl.com/r3h53la

This group is awesome. They have taken excellent care of our pets for 5 years. In good times and difficult decisions, they are awesome. I trust them. ❤️
$7K REWARD for the return of our 2 Missing Golden Retrievers! They were lost by the Rover sitter on June 18th, 2019 at the address 18385 Babcock Rd, San Antonio TX running toward Camp Bullis Rd and the Lutheran HS. Acoria is 7 years old, 80-90lbs and wearing a pink Star Wars collar. Ripley is 4 years old, 70lbs and wearing a purple polka dot collar. Both had our info on their tags. Both are micro-chipped and spayed (green tattoos on their bellies). If you have found, seen or know where they are, we beg to call us. Thank you. Please share with you family and friends. We are praying for a miracle ❤️🙏🏼 https://www.facebook.com/BringAcoriaandRipleyhome/

Thank you to Boerne Stage Veterinary Clinic for your SILVER sponsorship! We appreciate you!
We did a turnaround in your driveway last Sunday and saw this deer hanging out. Apparently even wild animals want to visit your practice for a checkup!
Please keep an eye out for my neighbors dog. His house was broken in to and they either took Bixbie or he ran off, scared by the robbers. He is microchipped and very friendly but likely very scared. Mirabel Subdivision off Old Fredericksburg road is where he calls home!
