Just a reminder, beginning this Sunday, March 13th! ☺️

Beginning Sunday, March 13th, we are undergoing a change in services. We will be transitioning into a facility that will offer daytime and evening urgent care as well as daytime appointments. What does this mean? Urgent Care is the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions which are serious but pose no immediate threat to life and health, but which require medical attention within 24 hours (Think Texas Med Clinic for us). We will be closing at midnight each night and will work with other local emergency veterinarians to transfer critical pets for overnight care. This will ensure adequate staffing and quality veterinary medical services during the times when we are most needed. If you have any questions, please reach out to us!

We all love putting our wrapped presents on display around the holidays. However, it's important to remember our pets can often smell food (especially chocolate), dog treats or dog toys through the wrapping paper. Our playful kitties may also be drawn to playing with holiday ribbons, which when ingested can cause harmful blockages. Be sure to keep these wrapped items out of your pet's reach until it's time for them to be opened.

While Christmas Trees are must for this merry time of year, it's important to ensure your tree is securely anchored to avoid tipping or falling. Not only could the fall cause injury to a fearless cat or dog but tipping or falling can cause the tree water to spill. Stagnant tree water can be a breeding ground for bacteria and often contain fertilizers that could cause an upset stomach.

I took my sweet Graci there yesterday. The attention and care she got was something I've never experienced before with any dog I've had. She is my 5 lb 6yr old yorkie and she is my baby. Thank you Dr. Chen for your care and the time you took with us. Your passion for animals is amazing. We are patients for life.
Thank you for patching up my baby Harley 💜
Hey 4 year anniversary! how's life been?
Scotty has an appt at 9am on Friday 02/19. He only has 1 can left of Urine So, what do I do?
I have a question for the awesome veterinary staff. At what age should we consider getting our puppy neutered?
I took my daughters cats to get their vaccines and called 3x for 10 mins each with the phone ringing before they answered and Trina stated she checked us in but how if they barely answer the phone on the 4th attempt? 🤔 So far not impressed
To All Clients: TCH will not be allowing any clients into the building for any reason. We will be offering curbside service ONLY. Please call 210 - 684 - 1448 for services when you arrive in the parking lot. Please refer to our page for updates to this policy as we get through this hard time. We will all get through this one day at a time.
Town & Country Veterinary Hospital Is a Safe Place All our team here at TCH is committed to maintaining a safe environment for our clients, our team and the pets we treat. Moving forward through the COVID-19 uncertainty, be assured that as a healthcare practice, we have experience with containing disease outbreak and transmission from parvovirus to canine influenza, as well as zoonotic infections. We will continue to utilize hospital grade disinfection and sanitation procedures while adding additional precautions for the safety of all involved in order to provide uninterrupted care for our patients. FOR OUR VALUED CLIENTS: We are business as usual, and we are taking all precautions to keep our clients, team and pets safe. Anyone concerned about coming to the hospital due to fears of being exposed to COVID-19, we already have experience with offering a solution to prevent the spread of respiratory disease with the canine influenza threat. We can offer options to limit person to person contact. 1. We will limit clients in the waiting area - Bring only 1 person per pet to the appointment. (As recommendations change, person to person appointments may be suspended). If you would like to wait with your pet outside, please let our receptionist know. We will try our best to get you and your pet into a room as soon as possible. 2. Scheduled drop-off pet visits - These can be made for examinations, blood work or other testing. Clients may choose to either wait in the car or pick up the pet once the procedures are completed. Please let the staff know if you are waiting in your car or are going to wait at home. We will communicate with you by phone or in the parking lot (weather permitting). 3. Online pharmacy– Clients may go to our online pharmacy and order prescription food and medication refills. These are available at https://towncountrybanderaroad.vetsfirstchoice.com. The link to the online pharmacy can also be found by going to our hospital website www.vitalpet.com/TandCHospital. Food and medications will then be delivered directly to your door. MOST IMPORTANTLY: If You Are Ill, Remain Home - Please do not take risks or place anyone else at risk. If you feel symptomatic or have risk of exposure, remain home. Together, we will continue to care for all our pets and keep everyone safe. Our commitment to ongoing healthcare in the face of emerging issues will not waver. We will adapt and remain available for any needs you and your pet may have. Together, we will get through this. Please call us with any concerns. . The Team at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital

I would like to thank everyone for their compassion today with the passing of our sweet Cassie . As a walk in they immediately assessed our sweet girl and agreed with our decision. The veterinarian was wonderful , the staff quickly took her to make her comfortable . They gave us as much time with her before and after . Thank you for being there with us during this difficult time . Cassie “ Cassandra “ Metzger . 12-12-2005 9-16-2019
The staff & doctors have been Earthly Angels in taking care our “daughter” (Shiz+poodle) the 2 times that she needed emergency surgery & for her checkups.
Heidi (and her parents) just wanted to say thank you so much for seeing her immediately with no notice at all, and no wait, this morning after she stepped on, and got stung between her paw pads by a bee (and it really really hurt). It was very much appreciated! Heidi got a children's bendedryl after we got home, and is resting today. Thank you again!
