These are all the symptoms of seawater poisoning in dogs and how to prevent it

This summer when you take your fur babies on a trip to the beach, please be aware when consuming large amounts of salt water, however, can be fatal. When a dog ingests salt water, the excess salt draws water from the blood into the intestines, leading to diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. Salt water also disrupts the fluid balance in your dog.

Dogs love the beach, but it’s important to keep an eye on them while they are enjoying playing in the waves.

One our wonderful technicians, Morgan, has been fostering a dog named Cane (5 years old) for a few months now and unfortunately she is going off to college (which we are extremely happy for her but so sad to see her go) and she is unable to foster Cane anymore. We don't want to see this sweet boy back to the shelter after he's had such a wonderful life here with Morgan. We are looking for a foster/adopter to take Cane in as part of their family, even if it is temporary until we can find this boy a forever home. Please call our clinic if you are able to help out. 210-545-6446

Below you can find Cane's profile which gives more information.

Happy National Puppy Day!!😍

With adding a new puppy to your family, it's always important to think not only about their health care, but their physical care as well like their coat, ears, nails, etc. Grooming is such a vital part of any puppies life, short or long-haired.
We recommend starting at 12-weeks of age. The very first grooming appointment is an introduction to the puppy and the owner to the world of grooming. The puppy will be introduced to a bath, blow drying, nail clipping and slight trimming. This will help the puppy feel comfortable with grooming as they grow up. Click the link below for more info.

Say hello to Bronx! His pet parents are giving him a great start by bringing him in for his puppy check up appointment. During these visits puppies are usually given vaccines (to help protect them from contagious diseases), their stool is checked (for parasites and eggs) and owners are encouraged to begin heartworm prevention (because who wants worms in their heart!). It is not only important to start puppy vaccines but also to finish out booster series to ensure your fur baby is fully vaccinated. Let's keep them as healthy as they are cute!

I love this place. The staff and dr Fernandez takes great care of my two dogs. They love what they do and it shows. Thank you for everything you do for my dogs.
I appreciate that this clinic stays in touch. It ensures that we do not miss important preventive care for our German Shepard Mix girl. The staff Is friendly, caring, and informative. In addition, Dr. Fernandez' s professionalism and thoroughness in examining our dog reinforces my confidence in this Office.
Knowledgeable staff, clean facility, took great care of my pup! Happy to have found such a great vet.
Love this clinic! My dog is very well taken care of from her medical to grooming needs! The staff is very courteous and helpful and i am always notified when its time for immunizations. Highly recommended for your pets needs. Thank you Vital Pet Stone Oak!
Very good Service and fast very nice personnel
Convenient and friendly staff.
Attention Clients: All of our systems are down. We do not have access to any account information or our phone systems. We do apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause anyone. We do have our IT people working on the situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We think of only ONE Vet when it comes to the perfect care of our dogs in the past and now with our Dewey. Dr. Fernandez and his crew have been our "go to" group for 15 years and he has seen us through the sad times with the passing of our older dogs and the enjoyment and happiness with our little rescue doggie, Dewey. Yesterday was Dewey's day for all of his care Rx and his annual exam and all is well. Please consider a Vet and Staff that offer the care and expertise that is found at Stone Oak Vet. Cllinic…...it's the place for total care given with love and affection.
Reward for his safe return. Lost my dog on Tuesday - Please share if you can. Manny, lost at around 1:00pm 5/29/18 on Medical drive between Fairhaven and Fredericksburg. Didn't have his collar on. 2.5 lbs responds to “Manny” blue / grey chihuahua 3 years old please call 361-510-4463 or 956-373-2614
Thanks so much for taking care of our three pups! We are so glad you can tolerate our craziness and we know our pups are safe with you.
Stone Oak Vet Clinic has a great daycare program. My dog Gracie always has a good time when staying there.
