That means your kitty may be snoozing for up to 12–16 hours a day! But don’t worry—this isn’t laziness, it’s biology. Cats are natural hunters, and in the wild they conserve energy by sleeping between bursts of activity.

Even though our house cats aren’t chasing prey anymore, they’ve kept this instinct—so that mid-afternoon nap is totally normal (and necessary!).

💡 Cats are actually most active during dawn and dusk, which is why you might get those sudden bursts of zoomies at the “wrong” time of day 😹

Did you know Florida is home to 5 species of sea turtles, including the Loggerhead sea turtle, Green sea turtle, and the critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtle? Our beaches play a huge role in their survival—especially during nesting season (May–October)!

💡 Here’s how you can help protect them:

Turn off or dim beachfront lights at night 🌙
Fill in holes and flatten sandcastles before leaving 🏖️
Keep your distance from nesting turtles and hatchlings
Properly dispose of trash (plastic is a major threat!)
