Did you know hot pavement can burn your pet’s paws in just seconds?

☀️🐾 Asphalt and concrete heat up much faster than the air temperature — on a 90° day, pavement can reach well over 130°.

A quick way to test it: place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws.

To help prevent burns:
🐾Walk pets early in the morning or later in the evening
☀️Stick to grass or shaded paths when possible
🐾Watch for signs of paw irritation like limping, licking paws, or darkened paw pads
☀️Always bring water on walks during hot weather

Your pet’s paws may be tough, but they’re not heatproof! 🐶🐱☀️
