Just a quick heads up that Skyway Animal Hospital will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day Weekend. 🇺🇸🐾

Before the festivities kick off, we wanted to share some helpful reads from our team about common holiday weekend mishaps that can send pets to the emergency clinic (hot dogs, corn cobs, fireworks, and pool parties).

Dr. C, Dr. Dalene, and Dr. Jones have all been working hard on these blog posts, and they're packed with real-world info straight from our doctors to you.

Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue brought Dr. C a new rescue to examine this afternoon. Meet “Tofu” the pig!
There’s never a dull moment around here, and Tofu is no exception. We dewormed him and pulled some blood for lab work…
Pretty sure that half of St. Pete heard his opinions about it!
He’s cute, he’s dramatic, and he stole Dr. Dalene’s lunch out of her bag. Bold move, Tofu! You’re gonna fit in great around here.😅

Less than one week into National Pet Dental Month and we have already done NINE cleanings! Safe to say... we're smiling big over here.

We still have a few openings if you'd like to jump in on $150.00 in savings to keep those teeth healthy and breath fresh!

A chilly Thursday morning started the only way we know how.
Scrubs on, lights on, and straight to work. This patient came in yesterday, and here we are, first thing this morning. Dr. Dalene and Dr. Jones are performing an exploratory laparotomy, doing what we do best: Showing up and trying to change an outcome.

Dr. Dalene's remarkable talent alongside Dr. Jones' 42 years of experience is not something you find just anywhere.

& straight into REMISSION.

Crush isn't just a retired police K-9.
To us, he's family.

After 16 weeks of chemotherapy, we're beyond proud to say he's officially in remission from Lymphoma.

Crush never came into SAH like a patient. He came in like family. He'd stroll through the hospital like it was his second home, greeting staff and settling in without a care in the world. His chemo treatments were calm, stress-free, and allowed him to keep living his life exactly the way he deserves to at 12.5 years young. That quality of life mattered to us just as much as the outcome.
