Did you know that even mild dehydration can affect your pet’s energy, digestion, and overall health?

Help keep your furry family members feeling their best by:
🐶 Providing fresh, clean water every day
🐱 Washing water bowls regularly to prevent bacteria buildup
🚗 Bringing water along on walks, hikes, and road trips
🥣 Offering moisture-rich foods when recommended by your veterinarian
🌞 Paying extra attention during hot weather or after exercise

Signs of dehydration can include:
• Dry or tacky gums
• Sunken eyes
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Excessive panting
• Skin that doesn’t spring back quickly when gently lifted

Not all sugar-free treats are safe for pets!

Sorbitol, a common sweetener found in sugar-free gum, candy, and mints, can cause stomach upset in dogs, leading to vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, and dehydration.

While sorbitol isn’t usually as dangerous as xylitol, many products contain both sweeteners. Because xylitol can be life-threatening, it’s always safest to treat any sugar-free product as a potential emergency until you can verify the ingredients.

If your pet gets into sugar-free gum or candy, contact your veterinarian right away.
