Anxiety in dogs doesn’t always show up the way you expect.

What seems like “just a habit” could actually be your dog trying to tell you something. It can be subtle and easy to brush off.

Two common signs to watch for:
👉 Excessive pacing or restlessness
👉 Overreacting to sounds or sudden movements

If you think you have an anxious pet save this post so you remember to bring it up at your next wellness visit 🐾

April is Animal Cruelty Awareness Month, and sometimes awareness starts with simply paying attention. A dog barking through the night, a pet that seems fearful all the time, or an animal without proper food, water, or shelter can all be signs that it may be time to check in.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s always okay to ask questions or reach out. You can contact Pinellas County Animal Services at (727) 582-2600 for guidance or to report a concern.

🐾 Your favorite Monday night just got a whole lot more fun!

We're taking over trivia night at The Dog Bar on April 20th at 7 PM + it's free to play!

Expect challenging questions, lively competition, great prizes, and dogs doing what dogs do best, cheering you on (or getting distracted by a new friend's backside 😂).

Grab your friends (and your dogs!) and come test your smarts with the SPVH team. We'll see you there! 🎉

Love your dog? Watch their body language.

When you know the difference between “yes please” and “no thanks”, every interaction becomes safer, less stressful, and more meaningful.

Share this with your favorite dog hugger. 🐾
