June 16th is Take Your Cat to Work Day!🐱🐈🐈‍⬛🐾
If you want to take your cat to work:
☑️Get Approval: Always check with your employer first
☑️Assess your cat: Is your cat social? Like traveling? Enjoy being around strangers?
☑️Bring the essentials: Portable litter box, scooper, water bowl, food bowl and food, food and treats!
☑️Bring a crate or have a safe space for them to safe and secure in the office.

🌈🐾 World Pet Memorial Day 🐾🌈
On World Pet Memorial Day we honor the lives of pets who have passed away. It is a time for owners to share , and reflect on the joy that their beloved pets brought into their lives. 🔥☀️Symptoms of Heat Stroke in Dogs ☀️🔥
With the hot, summer weather heating up, we need to watch for signs of heat stroke in our pets. Heat stroke can quickly become a medical emergency!
🚫 Never leave you pet in the car🚗 - not even for "a minute", or with cracked windows. Cars can quickly become dangerously hot very quickly.
⚠️Sign of Heat Stroke:
🔥Rapid panting or difficulty breathing
🔥Excessive drooling or thirst
🔥Red tongue & gums or pale gums
🔥Weakness, stumbling or collapse
🔥Diarrhea or vomiting
🔥Seizures

✅How to Prevent Stroke:
🐈Walk in the early morning or later in the evening
💦Hydrate-have plenty of fresh water available
🌳Provide shade and a cool place to rest
🐾Stay away from not pavement (Use the Seven Second Rule-rest the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds, if it is too hot for your hand it id too hot for your dogs paws)

📞If you suspect heat stroke move your pet to a cool area immediately, and call your veterinarian.
Have a safe and enjoyable time this summer with your pet.

Dr. Murphy, Liz LVT and Heather LVT did an amazing job working at the Town of Chili Free Rabies clinic that was held on Saturday. Here are some pictures of the adorable dogs 🐶 and cats 🐈 that received their rabies shots.

🌟In observance of Memorial Day 🇺🇸 , Monday May 25, 2026 Westside Animal Hospital will be closed, so the veterinarians and staff can be with their families while honoring those who served and sacrificed.

🐾🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Pet Safety Tips 🇺🇸🐾
While this holiday is for honoring our veterans- it is important to keep our pets safe.🐶🐾
🍔Avoid sharing unsafe holiday foods.
💧Keep pets hydrated with fresh water.
🌳Provide shade.
🏷️Microchip and provide ID tag.
🚗 Never leave your pet unattended in the car even if the window is rolled down!
🏊‍♂️Never leave a pet unsupervised at the pool.
🐾Watch out for hot pavements during a walk.
