🎉 Please Welcome Dr. Matthew Peterson, DVM, to ARK! 🐾

Dr. Peterson attended Saint George’s University, and completed his clinical training at North Carolina State University, gaining experience in a wide range of veterinary disciplines and patient care settings. Originally from Rockland County, NY, he attended SUNY Cobleskill for undergrad prior to embarking for the Caribbean for vet school.

Dr. Peterson is particularly passionate about helping patients with complex medical conditions and enjoys working with families to develop individualized treatment plans that support the health and quality of life of their pets. His experience and interest in shelter medicine have also fostered a deep appreciation for caring for animals from all backgrounds and helping every patient receive the care they deserve.

On a personal level, Dr. Peterson enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking, kayaking, and whitewater rafting. He is also a lifelong fan of the New York Giants, Knicks (Knicks in 5!!), and Rangers. In his downtime, he enjoys playing video games.

Buddy recently came in for a visit with Dr. Rennie, who has had the privilege of caring for him for almost 13 years! ❤️

There’s something so special about watching our patients grow through the years and being there for every stage of their lives. Buddy’s sweet smile says it all! 🥰🐶

🩺 Meet Snow! 🐸❄️

Everyone say hello to Snow, an adorable African Clawed Frog who recently hopped (well... swam!) into our Urgent Care feeling quite uncomfortable due to bloating.

After a thorough evaluation and treatment, we're happy to report that Snow responded well to medication and is feeling much better!

African Clawed Frogs are such fascinating and unique little creatures. While they may not be your typical dog or cat patient, they deserve the same compassionate care and attention. We love helping all kinds of pets, whether they have fur, feathers, scales, or webbed feet!

We're so glad Snow is back to feeling like herself, and we can't get over that sweet little face. 🥹

🩺 Patient Spotlight: Remy the Sugar Glider!

Sweet little Remy came to us for urgent care after developing an abscess that needed prompt attention. He was safely sedated while our veterinary team repaired the area and cleaned the wound.

We're happy to report that Remy recovered well from his procedure and is doing great! 🥰

Sugar gliders are tiny patients with specialized needs, so early treatment for wounds and infections can make a big difference in their recovery. We're honored to help these unique little companions when they need us most.
