Hearing the impact we are having on the community means everything to us!
"A few weeks ago, on a Friday night after 5pm (why are emergencies always after hours?!), we came home from work and went about our normal routine of cleaning up after and feeding our crew. Mr. Monte was not hungry whatsoever, which was odd, but it happens now and then. He seemed a bit 'down' and just looked like he felt yucky. Upon changing the potty pads, we noticed one of the pups left us something with a little blood in it. Terrified, we combed thru the camera footage from the day, and we were quickly able to see it was Monte with the upset tummy. His daddy went to pick him up and comfort him and Mommy noticed there was blood-tinged vomit on two of the dog beds.
Without any hesitation, we loaded Monte up in the car and made our way from Holley, NY to east Rochester - this was actually your very first night, first HOUR actually, at your new location.
With zero hesitation, Monte was quickly and smoothly checked in and evaluated super-fast. After a couple of hours of imaging, observation and visits from some docs, it was determined that our tiny boy was suffering from HGE - such a scary thing in general, but for a 4lb old man, it felt earth-shattering.
We were assured we caught it pretty fast and that everything would be done to help Monte. Little man was admitted and spent 36 hours at REVS. We spoke to Dr Popple on Saturday (after his first 24 hours), who assured us that Monte was on the mend and stable / improving. She gave us the option of letting him stay another 12 hours, so they could observe him after feeding. Another relief - knowing he was in the right place. Monte did well, his imaging looked good, and we picked him up the next morning with instructions and reassurance that we could call or come back if anything was needed.
After 4 days of so/so progress, our little old man was suddenly back to himself!! Waiting for and even begging for his dog food (he was sick of chicken and rice!), bringing us his bedtime froggy toy and waiting for Dad to play with him.
There are NO words to express our thanks and gratitude for all REVS did for our Monte Carlo! I can't lie, when we brought him in that night, I was convinced he wasn't going to come back home.
We are SO blessed to have REVS in our community with honest, trustworthy and amazing doctors and staff. You saved our boy's life, and we are forever grateful! With gratitude, Scott, Andrea & Monte Orton"
