August is “Itchy Pet Awareness Month”
Why is my pet so itchy? 🐱
Is your pet constantly scratching, licking, or chewing at their skin? Itching isn’t just annoying—it can be a sign of an underlying health issue.

Common causes of itchy pets include:
🐜 Fleas or other parasites
🌼 Environmental allergies (pollen, grass, dust mites)
🍗 Food allergies or sensitivities
🦠 Skin infections caused by bacteria or yeast
🧴 Dry skin or contact irritants

While the occasional scratch is normal, frequent itching can lead to skin damage, infections, and discomfort.

If your pet can’t seem to stop scratching, it’s time for a veterinary exam. Identifying the cause early helps your furry friend find relief faster—and keeps their skin healthy.
