🐾🎃👻PET TIP TUESDAY👻🎃🐾
Halloween is a spooky fun time for families, but for some furry family member's it can be stressful.
Here are some pet safety tips to help keep your pet protected during the spooky festivities:
👻Keep Halloween treats out of reach, especially treats and candy that contain raisins, chocolate (any kind) or xylitol (a common sugar substitute) for these ingredients are toxic to pets.
🎃Ensure your pets have identification on (microchip, collar, and ID tag) in case they escape through an open door.
🦇Keep Halloween decorations out of reach of pets. Watch pets around jack-o-lanterns that have lit candles inside. Be careful with human costume pieces that have glow sticks, loose pieces or batteries to avoid choking or internal injury.
🐈⬛Pet costumes can be cute and fun but for a pets safety and comfort make sure the costume fits them properly and comfortably, it doesn't have any pieces that easily can be chewed off, avoid costumes that could block their sight, hearing, breathing or movement. You can even help get your pet accustomed to wearing a costume before Halloween night.
👻If your pet is wary of strangers keep them in a room or kennel away from the front door during trick-or-treating. Play soft music or play a t.v. to reduce outside noises that may cause stress.
