Please join us in welcoming Dr. Matt Kruse to Blue Cross Animal Hospital! 🐾💙
Dr. Kruse is joining us as our Medical Director and full-time veterinarian bringing nearly three decades of experience in small animal medicine. He graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and has practiced throughout the Twin Cities area, including:
• Cedar View Animal Hospital in Apple Valley
• Flying Cloud Animal Hospital in Eden Prairie
• Burnsville Parkway Animal Hospital in Burnsville (where he was owner for 18 years!)
After selling his practice in 2020, Dr. Kruse served as a Regional Medical Director for three years before returning to clinical practice at All Paws Animal Hospital in 2023 — and now we’re thrilled he’s continuing his journey with us at Blue Cross!
Dr. Kruse and his wife, Heather Kruse, live in Edina with their three children, Drew, Nina, and Alexa. Their home is full of fun with George (a long-haired Dachshund cross) and Coco (a heeler cross). 🐶
When he’s not caring for pets, Dr. Kruse enjoys golfing, boating, cheering on his kids at sports and dance events, and traveling.
His “why”?
He truly loves veterinary medicine and is passionate about providing exceptional care for patients and clients while mentoring and supporting team members in their growth.
Fun fact: He can juggle! 🤹‍♂️

To support continued growth and staff development, Blue Cross Animal Hospital will be closed today from 11:45am to 2:15pm for our monthly team meeting. 🗓️✨

During this time, our phones will also be turned off so our team can fully focus on training and collaboration. 📚🤝

🚧🐾 TEMPORARY ENTRANCE UPDATE 🐾🚧

Our main entrance is temporarily closed while the sidewalk is closed for roof work in front of the building.
⏳ This will be in place for approximately the next 4–6 days.

✅ We are OPEN and seeing patients as scheduled!

We want to let you know that Blue Cross Animal Hospital will be closing at 12:00 PM tomorrow Friday January 23rd.

We will be open 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM to care for existing sick pet appointments and other previously confirmed visits that are medically needed.

Due to planned activity in the surrounding area later in the afternoon, we are adjusting our hours out of an abundance of caution for our clients and team.

In addition, with temperatures expected to reach –15°F and wind chills of –30°F or colder, we encourage everyone to take extra precautions when traveling and to keep pets safe and warm.

We will resume regular hours on Saturday, January 24th, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
