Foster Friday - meet Jo and Jefferson 🤍🩵

Jefferson(neutered) and Jo have very different stories. Jefferson, his
brother and sister were raised in the loving home of their foster mom.
Jo and her sister were thrown in a dumpster in a dirty paper bag. Luckily, they were found in time and taken to a local shelter. They arrived at KGPR full of life and interested in their new home.
Jefferson and Jo quickly became friends and are fun playmates. They are active, curious and ready to enjoy a forever home together.
Jefferson is still learning good lap time manners and would rather explore than help you stream your favorite show. Jo enjoys attention and is happy to keep you company. We definitely do not recommend them for a family with young children.
Both are approximately 1 year old. Jo and Jefferson are currently in our cage Agri Feed Pet Supply on Middlebrook Pike. Stop by and say hello to them!

🌟 Foster Friday: Meet Cannoli! 🌟

Sweet Cannoli came to KGPR in May 2025 when his family made the difficult decision to surrender him. They loved him very much, but felt he wasn’t getting the attention he deserved. When a family member developed allergies and Cannoli’s cage had to be moved to an enclosed porch, they knew he would have a better quality of life in rescue.

Cannoli is about 2 years old, neutered, and recently lost his cagemate after a long illness. Now he’s ready to find a special girl—or maybe even two—to share his life with.

This handsome boy is friendly, outgoing, and loves attention from his foster mom. He definitely has a big personality and can be quite the charmer with the ladies! Because he’s confident and enthusiastic, he may be a bit much for some females, but he’s currently living successfully with two of his foster mom’s girls.

💕 Foster Friday: Leann & Brownie
Leann and her filthy cage were abandoned in a public park. The entire incident was witnessed by a
compassionate stranger who wasn’t familiar with guinea pig care but knew she shouldn’t be left
there alone. He took her home, bought guinea pig pellets and hay, and reached out to KGPR.
Although we were over 3 hours away, he made the drive to ensure she would be well cared for. It
was immediately obvious that Leann had a sweet and loving personality, and she quickly felt safe
with her foster mom.
Brownie and his brother were purchased as pets for two very young children. The family was
incorrectly told by pet store employees that guinea pigs make easy first pets. They soon realized
they were unable to provide the care guinea pigs require and began searching for a new home for
them. KGPR was happy to help.
Brownie was bullied by his brother, so for his well-being they were separated and Brownie was
neutered. During his recovery period, he shared a cage with an older spayed female and learned
good piggy manners.
When Leann and Brownie met, it was obvious they were a perfect match. Brownie needed a friend
who was outgoing and people friendly. While he is still a little shy, he grows more confident every
day with Leann’s help

Sometimes piggies decide for us. ❤️
This adopter originally came to find one friend for her existing guinea pig… but after watching Beth, Fluffy, and their new friend, Summer, continually snuggle up together, she just couldn’t separate them.
So instead of one lucky piggy finding a home that day, TWO girls went home together. 🐹🐹
We love when adopters let friendships lead the way. Wishing Beth and Fluffy many happy years of cuddles, snacks, and wheeks in their wonderful new home!
