⏳🐾 The countdown is ON… only 4 more days until Dr. McKinley Archibald officially joins our team! 🎉

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Archibald to the Bluff Park Animal Clinic family beginning June 1st! From her years of hands-on experience in veterinary medicine to graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine this week, she brings both knowledge and compassion to every patient she meets. 🧡💙

We can’t wait for our clients (and their pets!) to get to know her. Be sure to give Dr. Archibald a warm BPAC welcome when you see her around the clinic! 🐶🐱✨

Cats and dogs can have seasonal allergies too 🐶 🐱 — and the symptoms often look different than ours. Itchy skin, paw licking, and runny eyes in spring might mean your pet needs some help. We can figure it out together. 🤧🤧

🐾 Staff Spotlight: Meet Tracy Langlois! 🐾

If you’ve visited our front desk, you may have been greeted by Tracy’s cheerful smile and easy laugh — two things that make everyone’s day a little brighter! As one of our receptionists, Tracy helps keep things running smoothly while making both pets and people feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door.

Tracy has been working in veterinary medicine for about a year, but her love for animals goes back much further. She’s been an animal lover her whole life, which definitely shows! Her favorite part of the job? Meeting all the adorable pets that come through our doors (and we can’t blame her 🐶🐱).

At home, Tracy’s crew is just as impressive as her love for animals: Copper and Patches keep the dog side covered, Toothless the bearded dragon adds a little reptile flair, and horses Dixie and Biggie round out the family. Safe to say, Tracy’s life is happily full of paws, hooves, and scales! 🐾🐴🦎

Outside the clinic, you’ll often find her riding horses, spending time with her kids, and embracing her longtime love of barrel racing. And in the spirit of keeping it real, Tracy admits one memorable horse story involved falling off and “crying like a baby” afterward — something many horse people can probably relate to! 😂 🐎

One piece of advice Tracy is always happy to share with pet owners: Stay up to date on vaccines! Preventive care goes a long way in helping pets live long, healthy lives.

We’re so thankful to have Tracy on our team. Her hard work, positive attitude, and genuine love for animals make her such a wonderful part of our clinic family. 💙🐾

Amanda needed to run a quick errand — just a stop by the store. Five minutes, tops. She couldn't bring Buddy inside. Yes, it was hot out, but she figured he'd be fine in the backseat for just a few minutes. She left the window cracked and got back as quickly as she could… to find him slumped over, not breathing.

This story is fictional. The tragedy it describes is not.

If you've visited Bluff Park Animal Clinic, there's a good chance you've crossed paths with Angel Mondragon — and there's an equally good chance your pet was immediately calmer for it.

Angel has spent 16 years in veterinary medicine, and it shows. He has a natural way with animals that's hard to teach and impossible to fake. He's also one of the hardest workers on our team, bringing a great attitude (and a great sense of humor) to everything he does.

What he loves about animals? "They don't talk back." When asked for his advice to pet owners, he said, "Love your pets."

Simple. True. Very Angel.

Thank you for 16 years of doing it right. We're so glad you're ours. 🐾 🐶 🐱 ❤

🚨🐾 Is Your Pet Emergency-Ready? 🐾🚨

When disaster strikes, having a plan for your pets can make all the difference. Whether it’s severe weather, power outages, flooding, or an unexpected evacuation, preparation helps keep your furry family members safe and reduces stress during an emergency. ❤️

Here are a few ways to be prepared ahead of time:

✔️ Pack a pet emergency kit with:
• Food & water
• Medications
• Leash/harness or carrier
• Veterinary records & vaccine information
• Comfort items like treats, toys, or a favorite blanket
• Waste bags/litter supplies

✔️ Make a list of pet-friendly hotels, boarding facilities, or friends/family you could stay with if you need to leave home quickly.

✔️ Keep ID tags and microchip information up to date.

✔️ Store supplies in an easy-to-grab location so you can leave quickly if needed.

We hope you never need it — but being prepared today can help protect your pet tomorrow. 🐶🐱💙
