Meet Nina! Nina is a sweet, sweet 12 year old pittie mix. She is clearly a staff favorite and we want to celebrate her completing SIX rounds of chemo!

Nina came to see us in January for increased incontinence and was diagnosed with Canine Transitional Cell Carcinoma/Urothelial Carcinoma after a few diagnostics. Dr. Arin and Dr. Johnson worked together to create a plan for Nina and we are thrilled to announce that Nina has completed her treatment!

Bladder cancer is rare in dogs, but transitional cell carcinoma (TCC/UC) is the most common type of bladder cancer which typically appears as a mass arising from the bladder wall and extending into the bladder lumen. The masses typically occur in the trigone (lower neck of the bladder) area of bladder which can extend into the urethra and prostate because of this location complete surgical excision is unlikely.

We will be at TrimTab brewing for Sips for Strays benefiting the Greater Birmingham Humane Society on Saturday, June 7th!! We are going to have some INCREDIBLE prizes to be won. To make sure we have something for everyone, we will be raffling off a full annual including a years worth of Heartworm, Flea & Tick prevention, a spay or neuter, a dental cleaning, a grooming package, and a boarding package. Patton Chapel Animal Clinic has served the Hoover, Vestavia Hills and greater Birmingham area since 1951. In May 2012, Dr. Chase Whitworth took over ownership and has since emphasized excellence in treatment and facilities, as well as actively connecting with the local community. We are members of the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce and support the Shelby Humane Society, Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Adopt a Golden Birmingham and local animal rescue groups.

With a passion for helping animals, our veterinarians and staff provide complete medical and surgical care for all pets at any stage of life.
