One of the biggest candy holidays of the year is upon us and Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner so now is the perfect time for a quick review of foods that are dangerous to dogs. Some may only cause stomach upset, but others might be fatal. None of us wants to see our dogs suffer or to spend time at the emergency vet (during the holidays or anytime) so please check the ingredients in food you are serving and the items you use and keep anything potentially harmful up and out of the reach of your dogs. Practicing the ‘Leave It’ and ‘Drop It’ cues are very vital too. It is also a good idea to put the number of your vet, the nearest emergency vet, and poison control into your cell phone. If you are traveling this holiday season, make sure you know the number of the emergency veterinarian who is nearest to where you are staying. Minutes can matter!

Please SHARE this important information with your friends and family and consider printing out a copy to hang on your fridge. It is up to us to be an advocate for our dogs.

Congratulations to the dogs and handlers who graduated from Rally Obedience 2 Thursday evening in Pewaukee! These teams had learned the foundations of this dog sport in Rally 1. They took those skills to the next level in Rally 2. One of the main goals of the class is to help both ends of the leash work together at becoming a great team. Each week there was a new course more challenging than the week before. All the teams rose to the challenges and worked at building a wonderful flow as they walked the course together. It was a fun class with great camaraderie! Four paws up to all! 🐾🐾👣

This young pup is having FUN with her dad while she is introduced to some agility equipment during Puppy Agility class. This class is great for learning teamwork and building confidence. It also helps foster a closer relationship. Great job!

Congratulations to the teams who graduated from Rocket Recall class in Hartland Thursday evening. This short, four-week class was packed with action and distraction. These teams learned how to build the foundations of a really reliable recall. The handlers concentrated on teaching their dogs that coming to them is FUN. No matter if there are distractions around or their human is out of view, coming back to their person is always the best option. The progress these teams made was amazing! Great work everyone! Keep having fun with your dogs. 🐾🐾

Congratulations to the five dog/handler teams that passed their Intermountain Therapy Animals Skills & Aptitude Therapy Tests the past two Thursdays in Pewaukee! The therapy test included many elements designed to simulate an actual Therapy visit. The dogs and their handlers did great and will surely be a blessing to many people during their therapy visits. We are honored to have been a part of your journey. You should all be very proud of your accomplishments!

Congratulations to all of the dogs and their handlers who graduated from Basic Manners on Monday in Pewaukee! Over the eight weeks of class, you taught your dogs basic skills, helped them develop increased focus and impulse control and, most importantly, strengthened your relationships with them. Each week you came to class ready to learn and it was fun to see the progress you made. We really enjoyed having you all in class and hope to see you again! 🐕
