Join us for a paws-itvely exciting story time at the Schallock Center for Animals! On three Tuesdays from 9:15-10AM throughout the summer, we'll be diving into the world of animals with captivating stories and creative activities. Each session features a new animal-themed book, paired with a hands-on arts and crafts project that brings the story to life. Kids can create their masterpiece during the reading or take it home to enjoy later!

Children's Wisconsin and HAWS Schallock Center for Animals are partnering to offer Equine Grief Explorers winter day camp. This special program provides support for kids who have experienced a loss by exploring their feelings with the help of horses. Through fun activities and spending time with these amazing animals, kids can find comfort and healing.

Hi all! Happy ! I wanted to jump on and let everyone know that next Saturday (12/14) we are hosting an Animal Professions Showcase from 9-12 here at the Schallock Center for Animals. This event is geared towards high schoolers and college students (adults welcome too!) interested in learning about different careers within the animal world. Different professionals will be stationed around our indoor arena and guests will be able to come and circulate around as they like!

*NEW! 4-Week Adult Horse Program*

This program is for adults (ages 18+) that have always wanted to learn about horses but never got the opportunity! We cover basic care topics including:
-grooming
-leading
-feed and nutrition
-plus different riding disciplines

This program will be held Tuesdays at 4:30-6PM from November 5th-November 26th (4 weeks).

EQUINE GRIEF EXPLORERS🐴🧡

This support program is in partnership with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Kids (ages 9-12) who have lost a loved one can learn about their grief and how to manage it as they interact with the horses in a calm, safe environment.

We still have a few spots available for the summer session that is on both Monday, August 5th and Tuesday, August 6th from 9AM-3:30PM at HAWS Schallock Center for Animals.

Registration for this program is done through Children's Hospital. While participants are not charged for this program, donations are greatly appreciated.

We are with the goats today because they wanted to tell everyone about their first field trip happening tomorrow! Larry, Mo, Curly, and our mini horse Candy Corn will be at HAWSfest at Sussex Village Park from 12-3. For more info go to hawspets.org/HawsFest/.

Hey y’all, long time no see! Happy !
Come see what it looks like on top of Ranger! He was trained primarily western, so that is the saddle you see today.

We’ve got spring programs as well as summer camp registrations open! Hooves and Flights as well as HAWSfest is also coming up in May!

Did you know? HAWS has opened up intermediate-level horse camps for ages 10-14 this summer! Participants in this camp are expected to know how to catch a horse, lead, and groom independently. The camp will be focused on gaining more independence under saddle and strengthening their horsemanship skills on and off the ground. We are offering both a two day camp (August 14-15) and week long camp (July 29-August 2).
