Meet Marlee!
Marlee is a beautiful brown doodle mix with a soft, non‑shedding coat and an even softer heart. Like many wonderful dogs helped by Fluffy Dog Rescue, Marlee originally found herself in a shelter in Alabama through no fault of her own. Thankfully, Fluffy Dog Rescue stepped in and transported her to Wisconsin, where she was spayed, brought fully up to date on vaccines, and settled into foster care. She has been with us for about a month now and has truly blossomed.
Marlee is a social, confident, and happy girl who loves people of all ages and sizes. From the moment she arrived, she showed just how smart she is—quickly learning our household routine, ringing the bell on the back door to go outside, and making herself right at home. She adores her tennis ball and a good game of fetch, and she’s not shy about asking for help if the ball rolls under the couch. Mornings start happily with her finding her ball, and evenings wind down with her contentedly relaxing nearby while we watch TV.
During the day, Marlee naps quietly on a dog bed in my home office, and at bedtime she settles into her favorite bed and sleeps soundly through the night. She’s house‑trained, with only a few early accidents when she was adjusting to her new environment—nothing since. She’s never had a #2 accident in the house.
Marlee appears to have a bit of bird dog in her mix—she is fascinated by birds and could happily watch chickadees and robins all day. Because of this prey drive, she goes outside on leash in our yard, and her future home should have secure fencing or supervised outdoor time.
She does well meeting other dogs of all sizes and especially thrives with easy‑going canine companions. She gets along great with our 4‑year‑old Goldendoodle. While she tolerates pushy senior dogs, she does prefer respectful dog friends and will advocate for herself if needed.
Marlee rides well in the car and eagerly hops into her crate for adventures. She isn’t thrilled about being crated when left alone, but she’s improving—she goes in on command with a treat, may fuss briefly, and then settles quietly until we return.
Health‑wise, Marlee is doing great. She arrived drinking excessive water and was diagnosed with a simple UTI, which was fully treated. She occasionally still drinks a lot at once—likely from past scarcity—but this continues to improve as she learns that water is always available.
One of Marlee’s standout qualities is her excellent social confidence. She recently attended a very busy outdoor brewery event with hundreds of people, loud music, kids, dogs, food trucks, and games—and handled it all beautifully. She was curious, relaxed, and polite the entire time. Many dogs (including my own!) would have struggled in that environment, but Marlee truly shined.
Marlee would do best in an active, engaged home that appreciates a smart, affectionate companion who enjoys playtime, structure, and being part of daily life. She has so much love to give and is ready to be someone’s best friend.
If you’re looking for a joyful, people‑loving doodle who fits easily into home life and public outings alike, Marlee might just be your perfect match.
