Santa Barbara Vizsla Rescue

Santa Barbara Vizsla Rescue A South Central Coastal CA 501.c.3 group of experienced Vfolk, committed to the Rescue and thoughtfu As the need has grown, so have our Rescue efforts.

Started as a small social group of Vizsla Families in 2008, SBVLG/R has grown exponentially. Now a large group, we socialize, offer educational forums and events, have group hikes, enjoy "Vizsla Fests", and provide friendship and guidance for new Vowners or those who may be experiencing difficulties with the Vizsla-Family bond--and we have much VFUN! Recognizing the need for an active Rescue Group

in our region in 2010, SBVLG began doing occasional rescues, often in conjunction with affiliate groups. Volunteer members, led by our experienced Rescue Coordinators, assess dogs in shelters or in the home setting, provide transport to pre-qualified Foster homes, arrange for private Veterinary assessments and treatment as needed, and confer with professional trainers if behavioral problems are present. Prior to adopting, all dogs have a health/temperament check, receive updated vaccines, dental and nail care, are neutered or spayed, and are microchipped. Other necessary Veterinary care is provided if at all possible. Our Foster Parents are all experienced Vizsla Moms and Dads and provide care in their homes as if the dog were their own family member (sleep outdoors? It's a VIZSLA--perish the thought!). FOR RESCUE NEEDS or to inquire about adopting a Rescue Vizsla from us, please dual-email us at:

Who wants this sweet 💕 boy?

Direct Adopt, Courtesy post and assistance by SBVLR: Wonderful 3 year old purebred Vizsla R***r needs a new forever home by May 1! R***r is neutered, professionally trained, chipped, and up to date on shots. From owners:

Good Qualities:

R***r is extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle. A Velcro Vizsla!
He is good with children and other pets, especially dogs and most cats.
R***r is house-trained and walks well on a leash.
He is very playful and has no history of aggression with dogs or humans.
R***r is well-behaved, knows many commands as he has been sent to a dog training academy for 2 weeks. Knows sit, stay, lay down, give me paw and more.
Needs:

Active Daily exercise: tends to get bored and chew his own blanket/bed when at home for very long periods. If you have an ample yard and give him plenty of exercise, this won’t be an issue.
Monitor people food: R***r is a counter surfer if you aren’t in the same room.
Fearful of fireworks, loud banging, boom sounds, or walking near a highway. He gets nervous or skittish but will recover quickly after 10-15 minutes.
Please fill out an application for this super sweet young boy at www.santabarbaravizslarescue.com or call/email Rescue Coordinator Christine Oliver at 805-680-6524, [email protected] with questions. R***r is currently in west LA area. This is a direct adopt with courtesy post and assistance by SBVLR. Rescue is not responsible for owner’s accuracy/description of dog’s health and behavior: adopter to verify.
