Rattlesnakes are still out!!
As a matter of fact, September & October are prime-time baby rattlesnake seasons, as most mothers give birth during late August, September and perhaps early October.
Did you know?... Your dog can be trained to recognize rattlesnakes by sight sound or scent AND to then avoid them. They can possibly help you avoid an unfortunate surprise encounter as well by serving as your early warning system.
My professional herpetologist & I offer what many of my thousands of extremely satisfied clients have claimed is the most humane, comprehensive and effective (R.A.T.) training they have experienced. Uniquely we take you through the course WITH your dog, and also offer options of traditional e-collar as well as vibrate and spray options.

🥳🥳🥳07/22/18 HANK IS SAFE WITH VRESCUE!! See new post🐾💕💪🏽
07/19/19 1945 PDT
🆘URGENT, City of Twentynine Palms, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, USA☠️
THREE DAYS TO LIVE!!
Hank is an ~8.5 y/o intact male PBV. He was surrendered to Palms n Paws (Public) Animal Shelter by his owner because he is an escape artist and she lives in an unfenced trailer park.
**This shelter is in an underserved community and there has been no interest in Hank, so sadly he will be euthanized if not adopted by or BEFORE 07/22/19**.
Hank is reportedly terrified of cats (!) but great with kids and other dogs. *Extremely clever about opening gate latches & fence-climbing*, this SweetPaws needs an understanding, loving, experienced Vowner, regular exercise, and an extremely securely fenced yard. Hank seems somewhat indifferent to the shelter staff; this to me says he lacks trust rather than affection😥.
He is underweight, trying hard to escape from his cage at the shelter, and has caused the facial lacerations you see trying to get out. So, he is now e-collared so as to keep him from injuring himself.
Adoption fee is $123.00 which includes core vaccines and a voucher for (mandatory) neutering.
Vizsla Rescues in NoCA, SoCa, Santa Barbara, and Monterey Bay are all unable to pull/rescue at this time (too many V’s, dearth of funds & Fosters). IF YOU CAN ADOPT HANK, please call the Shelter directly to make arrangements.
*Although not nearby, I am somewhat familiar with the area. PM me the details and I will do whatever I can to facilitate. Likely an adoption/payment by phone, arrangement for direct transport to a Veterinarian who boards, physical exam and neutering before pick-up would be the best plan.*

THANK YOU to the incredibly sweet Animal Shelter Volunteer who has reached out to VRescue to try to help poor Hank. Hoping there is a home for him out there somewhere soon!💔🐾💕

🇨🇭HEALTH ALERT
If your dog is eating a grain-free, raw, or home-made diet, PLEASE educate yourself on the current catastrophe that is nutritional Dilated Cardiomyopathy in dogs.
Here is an update from the Veterinary Medical Nutritionist Group at Tufts University, one of only two (the other being UC Davis SVM Nutrition/Cardiology) whom I personally consider to have any credible research or commentary on the subject.
My Vivi (formerly fed Acana, then Zignature, now on Purina Pro Plan; thankfully her heart is ok we think because it was mixed with Hill’s I/D) hopes that it saves lives among her Vcousins and their friends.
Commenting turned off as I am not interested in controversy, just hope that all of you will read, think carefully, and share.
