There are dogs sitting in the shelter right now who have been waiting 90+ days for someone to choose them.

Not because they’re bad dogs. Not because they’re unlovable. But because somehow they keep getting overlooked while days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, and in the saddest cases months turn into year(s).

Why does it so often take a deadline for people to rally behind a shelter dog? Why do they only become urgent once time is running out?

The truth is these dogs have already been waiting far too long.

Shelters were never meant to be permanent homes. The constant noise, barking, stress, confinement, and chaos slowly wear dogs down. Even the happiest dogs begin to shut down mentally and emotionally. They need peace. They need decompression. They need someone willing to see them outside of the kennel.

Some of the best dogs in the shelter are the ones who have been waiting the longest.

Please consider fostering or adopting a long-stay dog. Even sharing their posts, talking about them, or coming to meet them helps more than you know. They cannot get out without community support.

Rocky got a taste of the good life today… couch naps, chew toys, and all the peace and comfort that comes with being in a home instead of a kennel. 💙

Safe to say he much prefers this kind of life. Now he just needs a family to make it permanent.

Rocky is available now to foster or adopt!

You know that dog who just fits into your life right away? That’s Nessa.

She’s the kind of dog who settles in anywhere like she’s always belonged. Whether it’s riding in the car, soaking up the sun, or rolling around in the grass without a care in the world.

She’s sweet, easygoing, and genuinely loves being around people. Always up for treats, always down for belly rubs, and somehow both playful and calm at the same time.

At about a year old and the perfect medium size, Nessa fits into just about any kind of day ☀️ adventures, lazy afternoons, all of it.

She’s currently in foster and already showing what a good girl she is… now she just needs a forever home to make it official.
Ask to meet her today!

Tony: professional sunbather, part-time social butterfly, full-time good boy ☀️🐾

He’s the kind of dog who is happy to meet new people, but just as content soaking up the sunshine or cruising alongside you like he’s been yours forever. Easygoing is his default setting, and he wears it well.

He rides like a champ in the car, settles nicely at home, and brings that laid-back, happy energy that just makes life feel lighter. Basically he’s the kind of dog who fits right in and then steals your heart without even trying.

If your home is missing a friendly face, a wagging tail, and a built-in adventure buddy who’s equally down for couch time, Tony’s been waiting.

How is Chiquito still waiting?

This 65-lb “Pit-usky” is everything people ask for ⭐️ laid back, cuddly, and easygoing. He’s great in the car, walks nicely on leash, and is always up for a day trip, or a roll in the grass with that big, goofy smile 😊

He’s a total staff and volunteer favorite and once you meet him, you’ll get it.

Chiquito has been living in a kennel since January. He’s ready to be someone’s constant companion and find a forever home.

Marley is just one of those dogs you don’t come across often. He’ll sit nicely when you walk up, offer his paw like it’s second nature, and somehow make you feel like you’ve known him forever.

He’s got the basics down: sit, shake, speak, down, stay, come. Multiple fosters who have taken him home say the same thing: he’s easy, well-behaved, house-trained, and totally fine hanging out at home while you’re gone.

He loves people (even strangers) and can be around other dogs, though he’s a little selective about who he’d want to live with.

Marley has that great balance. He’s still got some of that cattle dog energy, but he also knows how to relax. He’ll happily go out on a long walk or adventure, then come home and settle right in next to you.

He’s the kind of dog people don’t forget.

Meet Marley and fall in love with the wonderful pup that he is! He can’t wait to find his forever home. ❤️

Brinx had the best day soaking up the sunshine and salty air at the beach. 🌊🐾 This gentle 13-year-old German Shepherd still loves getting out for a stroll and walks beautifully on leash. With his soulful eyes and calm, affectionate nature, Brinx is the definition of a loyal companion.

An important thing to know about Brinx is that his heart belongs to his best friend, Mack. These two senior shepherds came to the shelter together and share a deep bond. They find comfort in each other and would love nothing more than to spend their golden years side by side in a peaceful home.

Brinx already knows sit, shake, and lay down, and he brings a steady, loving presence wherever he goes. If you’re looking for twice the loyalty, twice the wisdom, and twice the love, Brinx and Mack are hoping you’ll open your heart to them both. 🤎

Senior dogs like these deserve a soft landing and a family willing to keep their friendship intact.
