🎉🐶🐾❤️HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY!!🎉🐶🐾❤️

August 26th is National Dog Day. 📆The date was selected by animal advocate Colleen Paige because her family adopted her first dog, Sheltie, from a local shelter on August 26 when she was a child. According to the official National Dog Day history, the observance celebrates dogs of all breeds and draws attention to dogs in need of rescue, as well as the many roles dogs play in families and communities. National Dog Day is partly a celebration and partly a reminder. 🐾It recognizes companion dogs, service and working dogs, rescue dogs, and dogs waiting for adoption. It also encourages people to think about what responsible care looks like throughout a dog’s life.🐶 Do something amazing for your 4-pawed friend today. A yummy treat, a long walk, a good belly rub, or just some extra snuggle time. 🩷Take a moment to appreciate the unconditional love and loyalty these furry babies bring into our lives. Good morning, friends, family, and followers of Norton Road Veterinary Hospital. We are happy to let everyone know that Dr. Logan has completed her very long reconstructive surgery and is recovering comfortably. She will need to spend a few more days in the hospital for around-the-clock care and will hopefully be released by Monday. At this time, her family has asked that friends refrain from texting or messaging any members for a few days, as they are absolutely exhausted from all of the hours spent at the hospital. She will be required to rest at home for 3 months to fully heal. We all know how much Dr. Logan likes to “rest”; my guess is that she’ll be bored by the third week😉. Keep up all those wonderful, positive thoughts, not just for Dr. Logan, but also for her amazing crew of caregivers who are so dedicated to making sure that she stays comfortable and healthy. Dr. Logan is so motivated to get better by the thought of getting to return to work and be able to see all of our wonderful clients and precious patients again. 🩷We are all so grateful for the support, loyalty, and love that we have gotten to witness through all of these unpredictable curveballs that have been thrown our way over the last year. 🩷We feel incredibly fortunate to have the best village in veterinary medicine!! Thank you all! 🤞Let’s hope to all be reunited in November.

Thank you, Dr. Flax!

After two wonderful years at Norton Road Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Flax is beginning an exciting new chapter as she heads to Florida to be the medical director of a new veterinary hospital.

While we're sad to see her go, we're incredibly proud of all she's accomplished and grateful for the compassionate care she has provided to our patients and their families. Her kindness, dedication, and love for animals have made a lasting impact on our team and our community.

Dr. Flax, we will truly miss you, but we're so excited to see you follow your dream. We wish you nothing but success and happiness in this new adventure.

As we finalize her replacement, Dr. Provo, along with several of our trusted part-time veterinarians—Dr. Finley, Dr. Emy, and Dr. West—will be here to provide the compassionate, high-quality care you've come to expect for your pets.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we work through this transition. We appreciate your continued trust and support, and we look forward to continuing to care for you and your furry family members.

Please join us in wishing Dr. Flax all the best as she embarks on this exciting new journey!

We love celebrating our team at our quarterly Team Appreciation Events. Thank you to all of our clients for understanding why we closed a few hours early on a Sunday to have a chance to show the team how much we appreciate them & to give them a fun evening out!! Sunrise Sanctuary is an amazing organization & Sandy did such a wonderful job as our guide for our private tour. The animals are living their best life on the large farm: routine veterinary care, free roaming over acres of land, the love from all of the volunteers (& guests like our team)...such a positive and happy environment. We would encourage everyone to find time to attend one of their events or schedule a private tour.

Our power is out this morning. AEP says by 10 a.m. Meantime we are working on battery back up and 1 cell phone. Please be patient with us as this is not easy for us either.
