A quick knock on the hood can save a life. 🔊🐾

Even if your cat stays inside, the cats in your neighborhood may not. When temperatures drop, they look for the warmest spot they can find, and a car that has been running is exactly that. They climb up into the wheel well or engine bay to get out of the cold, and they are usually well hidden by the time you head back out.

A few seconds is all it takes:

🔊 Knock on the hood or honk before starting the engine.
🐾 Look under and around the car before pulling out.
🌡 Remember that a recently driven car stays warm for hours, so this matters in the evening too.

It is a small habit, and it costs you nothing. For a cat sheltering from the cold, it makes all the difference. 💙

🎃🚪 Happy Halloween! Trick-or-treaters at the door can be exciting for us, but stressful for our pets. With doorbells ringing and people coming and going, it’s also an easy time for a pet to slip out unnoticed.

Create a safe space away from the front door with a favorite toy, puzzle feeder, or calming background noise. Before opening the door, take a quick moment to make sure your pet is safely out of the way.

And just in case they do get out, make sure their ID tags and microchip information are up to date.

A few simple precautions can help keep your pets safe while the Halloween fun continues! 👻🧡

Happy National Cat Day! 🐾😴

Ever wonder why your cat seems to nap constantly? It's not laziness — it's biology.

Cats spend around 70% of their lives asleep, roughly 12–16 hours a day, making them one of the most sleep-driven mammals on the planet.

As natural predators, cats' bodies are wired to conserve energy between bursts of hunting activity, even though our domestic cats trade mice for kibble.

Their sleep cycles are also different from ours: a large portion is light, easily interrupted sleep, keeping them alert and ready to pounce (or investigate the sound of a snack bag) at a moment's notice.

So today, let's celebrate our feline friends for exactly who they are: professional nappers, expert stretchers, and masters of doing absolutely nothing with maximum style. 🐱💤
