This past Tuesday, one of our surgeons, Dr Julia Coutin, was asked by the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Surgery Club and Women’s Leadership (WVLDI) Club to come and speak about her journey from being a student to becoming a veterinary surgeon. We love any opportunity to educate and assist future veterinarians in achieving their goals, especially at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine!

Meet Juniper! She is the pet of one of our technicians, McKenna.

Juniper was found as a stray with severe skin issues. Dr. Ramos was able to diagnose her with an autoimmune disease called pemphigus foliaceus. This disease causes the immune system to attack the connections between its own skin cells.

Juniper is now well managed under her treatment plan with Dr. Ramos and has seen vast improvements in just a few weeks. She now lives happily with McKenna and is doing great!
