Earlier this year, 3-year-old Charlotte the Pomeranian was rushed to our hospital after being attacked by a 100-pound dog 😔—her tiny chest had two puncture wounds, five broken ribs, and part of her lung was protruding from the injury 💔. When she reached Dr. de Cordon’s OR 🩺, her heart was literally in our hands.

But Charlotte fought hard 💪. We all witnessed her incredible will to live, and thanks to our fully equipped surgical suite and emergency care team 🏥, she made it through.

Recently, she rolled back in with her stroller and stuffed animals 🧸, full of sass and spirit—the ultimate survivor 👑.

At Lakeview, we’re proud to offer both primary care 🐾 and advanced emergency surgeries when our patients need it most.

We know the days are longer, and summer adventures and emergencies don’t always fit into regular hours — so we’re extending ours!

🕗 Every last Saturday of the month (now through September), we’ll be open from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
That means more time for check-ups, vaccines, emergency, walk-in appointments, and all your pet’s care needs.

Say hello to Bonnie, a brave little 9-week-old kitten who came in for umbilical hernia with intestinal entrapment reduction surgery! 💪🐱

Don’t let his size fool you — this tiny but mighty boy handled everything like a champ. Here he is post-op, rocking his mini surgical vest and stealing hearts left and right. 🥹😍✨

We’re so proud of Bonnie and can’t wait to watch him grow up healthy and strong! 💖

Meet Maci—another Weight Loss Challenger!

Maci is 11, full of tortitude 😼 (that’s cat for “sassiness with a side of attitude”), snack-obsessed 🍗, super nosy 🕵️‍♀️, and a pro napper 💤.

Born under a shed, she is now queen of the house. She loves her bestie Tessa 🐱, tolerates her Dalmatian siblings, and absolutely avoids her German Shepherd siblings 🐕.

Nosy? Maybe. Iconic? Absolutely.

Let’s cheer her on as she naps her way to a healthier, sassier life!

✨ Specialty Surgery Day at Lakeview! ✨

We partnered with our amazing mobile surgical team to help two special patients get back to their best selves! 🩺💙

🐱 Charsiu, a brave 9-month-old Abyssinian kitten, underwent an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) to treat a painful hip condition. This procedure removes the damaged part of the hip joint, allowing for pain-free movement and improved mobility—perfect for an active young cat ready to get back to playing and climbing!

🐶 Rylo, a sweet 2-year-old American Bully, had soft palate surgery to help him breathe easier and enjoy a more comfortable, active lifestyle. By reducing excess tissue in the back of the throat, this surgery improves airflow and reduces the risk of breathing-related complications—especially important for flat-faced breeds like his.

Huge thanks to our visiting surgical specialists for bringing advanced care right to our hospital! 🏥💪 Seeing these pets on their road to recovery makes every effort worth it. 💕

📢 Weekly Tails with Dr. De Cordon: Storm’s Spay Surgery 🚨 (⚠️ Graphic Content Warning)

This week, we’re sharing Storm’s case—a 4-year-old dog diagnosed with open pyometra, a serious infection of the uterus that can make dogs very sick. Pyometra is a condition that requires prompt surgical intervention, as it can lead to severe complications if left untreated.

Storm underwent a spay surgery to remove the infected uterus and is now recovering well. This case serves as an important reminder that spaying not only prevents unwanted litters but also eliminates the risk of pyometra and reduces certain health risks.
