We would like to take a moment and say thank you for your continued support and understanding during this time. We have done everything we can to keep our staff and clients safe and healthy while providing the best care for your pets. While we have received many thank you's and sentiments of appreciation, there have been a few instances where our staff has been treated in a way that is not acceptable.

Please understand wait times may be longer as we continue curbside service. We always do our best to stay on schedule, but please remember, you never know what critical care is being given inside the hospital!

All we ask is that you please be kind. Thank you!

Dear Aiken Animal Hospital Family,

We always pride ourselves in compassionate care and the life and health of your pets and yourselves.

We plan to remain open our normal business hours and continue after-hour emergency services at this time.

Due to the present health concerns in our society, we are instituting changes to our open-door policy. We are asking clients to remain in their vehicles with their pet(s). Upon arrival for your appointment, we ask you to please notify our office via phone (803-648-4401 / 803-648-3608) that you have arrived for your appointment. A team member will come out and pick up your pet for exams.

These policies are to help keep our clients and team safe. We are trying to remain open as long as we can so we can continue to care for our clients and their pets.

Refills – our script line is still available at 803-648-4401. We ask you to call at least 1 hour in advance. Please notify the office when you arrive and a team member will bring your medication out to your vehicle.

We recommend that you utilize our on-line pharmacy for pet food. Our team will be happy to help you set up your order. Yes, we can still handle food and prescriptions being picked up from our hospital. We are in the process of increasing our online pharmacy to include prescriptions.

Clients may make payments via phone or parking lot service.

Thank you for your support!

We would like to let all of our clients know how we are responding to the COVID-19 virus situation. We take our responsibility to our clients and staff very seriously. We are following recommended protocol to do our best to keep our staff, our clients, and their pets safe. We are disinfecting everything in the clinic, lobby, and entry even more often that we usually do. We have hand sanitizer available for everyone to use entering and exiting the building, as well as sinks with antibacterial soap in the bathrooms and exam rooms.
We realize this is a challenging time, and we remain deeply committed to the safety of all.
Aiken Animal Hospital is open our normal business hours and the staff is available to help with your pets and take your calls.
Please take care of yourselves and each other.

Thank you,
The Doctors and Staff of Aiken Animal Hospital

Holiday Pet Tip #4: Kitties love shiny things. Naturally, they are going to be curious about the tinsel and want to play with it. If ingested, it can cause blockage in the cat's intestines. Just stay safe and make it a tinsel free holiday this year.

Wonderful and caring care. They follow up with their patients and work to find a solution.
Everyone at Aiken Animal hospital is always friendly and understanding no matter what your pet needs are. I have trusted Dr. Brown with our pets over many years and feel they could not have had better care. I hate to mention other names for fear of leaving someone out, but Mary and Sharon are great.
I love Aiken Animal Hospital. I trust Dr. Brown completely. I like that the staff knows me and my dogs by name. The front office staff always gets us in as quickly as possible.
I am currently in New Zealand and will be back in 3 days. Will set appointment then.

“I suspect it’s hard to love anyone in the Veterinary healthcare field. We get up early and don't have time to drink coffee over the newspaper. We come home late and are too tired to cook or it's too late to even start a meal for our family. We work extra hours because we know there are sick animals who need us and we are all that they have. We miss events, holidays, birthdays, and our children's school programs or sporting events. We think about our patients even when we leave the building, wondering if we helped them in any special way. We don't want to talk when we come home. We’ve talked all day. We don't want to move when we come home. We’ve moved all day. It may seem that we have left all our caring, our heart, and our love at work, then have come home to you empty. We probably have. But we don't tell you that many times at work we’re mired by anxiety and we’re scared; very scared that we’re missing something. Scared we will let our patient down, or worse. Our patients are our families, too. We don't tell you how some of our patients are dying and this makes us very, very sad. We don't share with you how our hearts melt when our patients give us that loving kiss or tail wag that makes our day even though we still know they feel terrible and can't tell us why, we just have to use our experience and do our best to treat to the best of our ability. I suspect it is hard to love a Veterinary healthcare worker, but know this: your Veterinary healthcare worker needs your love, your understanding, and to know that you get it. Saw this and thought, gee this sure fits the folks here. So wanted to pass it on. The staff and doctors, are, as they used to say in Lake Wobegon, are "well above average", and personally, we thank each and every one of them, they are special people. Very special!
Thank you for being so thoughtful on Curtis's first birthday! Hope you all have a great day!😊
Superlative care, extraordinary skills, loving, sensitive, caring. The best doctors in South Carolina. Without question!
